This is an awesome Mopar that has a lot of the original components installed on it. It has been repainted, but still retains the original engine, original interior, and many exterior components. With the car, we have documentation from a Galen Govier inspection, Window Sticker, and the original Buyer's Order.

This GTX was nicely optioned for the year, and this car has a compelling story to go with it. This Mopar was purchased new at Fred Oakley Motors of Dallas Texas by a Mr.Gee for his son. The car became this young man's life - he was described as sort of a loner who was only interested in cars. He changed a number of parts out with go-fast bits, although the original parts were found years later in the garage where the car was stored for about 13 years. Why store an awesome car like this one? This young man was drafted into the armed services in 1971, and ended up in Vietnam. Sadly, he was killed in a helicopter crash and never made it home to his car. Before he left for the service, he worked to make sure the car would be preserved and protected while he was gone, so he could enjoy it when he came home. Mr.Gee, the young GI's father finally decided in 1984 to have the car pulled out of storage and professionally cleaned and detailed. He actually drove the car a little between 1985 and 1991, but had become ill and his wife was not interested in driving the car. By 1992, both Mr and Mrs Gee had passed, and the car was to be put up for auction in June of 1993. A former neighbor of the Gee's bought the car and kept it in his possession for a short time in Bedford Texas.

This GTX left the factory finished in Platinum Silver (A4) with a Black vinyl top. The color that the car has been repainted in is very very similar to the original Platinum Silver hue, although the metallic in the paint currently shows through much more. With black trim and stripes on the hood, you can tell from a distance that this car is something special.

This large car features a spacious interior that is finished in Chrysler's Premium Trim Grade (P) and includes all black vinyl Black bucket seats with headrests, center console, sweeping speedometer, factory tach, AM/FM Radio, and wood trim along the dashboard and door panels. The interior is in great condition considering its age and originality.

The engine is a numbers matching 440ci Commando V8 mated to an A727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. The 440 was rebuilt at just shy of 60k miles. Power brakes with front discs, Factory A/C, power steering, and 3.55:1 axle ratio are other notable items. The 440 originally pushed out 375 horsepower and was capable of pushing this big car through the traps of a ¼ strip in just less than 14 seconds! Pretty remarkable!

Compelling story or not, this GTX is an awesome car that is ready for a new home. Numbers matching V8, highly original interior, original body panels, and documentation are all part of a recipe for a great collector muscle car.
