“…the most powerful production station wagon ever to be offered with a manual transmission….” Brian Silvestro, Road & Track, 4/20/18
The CTS-V probably garnered the most-ever glowing press coverage from the sports-enthusiast crowd Cadillac engineers had set out to win over with the model. From Road & Track in 2012: “…a seductive devil with a roaring supercharged 6.2-liter pushrod V-8 combined with the conventional luxury trappings of any modern Cadillac. In short, it's a 4-door Corvette with ventilated bucket seats.” As to the experience of driving one of these very special cars, the same article went on: “Without driver restraint, the tires can vaporize in an instant. The V is just so eager to run, it's hard to drive it in a civil manner. Even on back roads, it begs to let its supercharger sing. The manual transmission welcomes high-revving downshift blips and allows for no-lift up-shifts that not only provide superb forward thrust, but wow passengers with sheer brutality. There's a race car under this mass of leather, wood and steel eager to be let out.” This 556-horsepower, 4-second 0-60 CTS-V was the Cadillac that changed the Cadillac brand.
Getting your hands on a CTS-V Sport Wagon was challenging enough back when the cars were brand new. Only 1,767 wagons were made (all were rear-wheel drive). And just 514 of those had 6-speed manual transmissions. Today, these cars are valued by collectors for their combination of rarity and full-throated performance. We are fortunate this example found its way to our collection. It could fairly be called the rarest of the rare.
Consider these amazing statistics for this particular CTS-V: Of the 514 6-speed manual sport wagons manufactured by Cadillac in all, just 60 came with the stunning Crystal Red Tintcoat paint. Of those 60, only seven were born with the handsome Light Titanium leather interior (black was the more common interior color). And only two of these Crystal red/Titanium wagons were optioned with the sunroof, making this car literally, “one of two.” (Its only mate is believed to be in Belgium.) Originally purchased in Maryland, this CTS-V Sport Wagon has had only two prior owners who have enjoyed and respected the car for a total of 40,000 miles, or fewer than 6,000 miles per-year. The car remains completely stock, except for the black vinyl wrap on the side chrome trim and black plastic dipped wheels. All of which can be easily removed.
The car is loaded with top Cadillac options, including heated AND cooled seats. You're going to need to cool down a bit while driving this hot wagon. Recaro Seats, Navigation, Bluetooth, Rear Camera, Sunroof, Power Liftgate, Bose Stereo, Remote Entry, Adjustable Suspension, Dual Exhaust, and Three Pedals - its more loaded up with amenities than any Z06 you've been in. It also comes with both sets of keys, books, manuals, and extended warranty coverage until 75,000 miles or May 1, 2020. Short of an in-person, close-up inspection, the more than 150 photographs and the video on our website, Garage Kept Motors, are your best resource for appraising this beautiful, ultra-rare super-wagon. We welcome any and all serious prospects to visit us in person, or designate a proxy to do so. Heck, we even encourage comparison-shopping… as long as you're up for a trip to Belgium! Values on these Wagons, especially with 6-Speed gearboxes, continue to climb. They truly are that special. No disappointments here.
