Here's another GM version of a modern muscle-truck.  Preceding the GMC Typhoon and Syclone 'fast trucks,' the 454 SS was revisiting the idea of a muscle-truck.  A big block under the hood, raked stance, chrome wheels, and bucket seats gave this SS truck some attitude, but the styling didn't scream 'look at me!'  

Of the three colors offered on the SS trucks, this one is finished in the most understated color of black.  The burgundy interior includes bucket seats, and a center console with cupholders. Otherwise the interior is standard from the GM pickups of the period.  Other options include power windows, power locks, Delco AM/FM/Cassette, and power steering.

The 454 big block under the hood gave this truck a tire burning 345 lb/ft of torque and the ability to run from 0 to 60 in just under 8 seconds.  There is great temptation to stomp on the go pedal in this truck. The rumble from the big block and the sound of tires struggling to grip is satisfying, especially when sitting in the driver's seat of an understated truck.  Limited production means there aren't many around, and not many people know what they're about.
