1954 Studebaker 3R5 Pickup Truck -

We're excited to offer such a rare truck made more unique thanks to touches added by a hot rodder and car enthusiast.  The Studebaker ½ Ton pickup 3R5 line originally featured six cylinder engines, and were a bit more 'simple' than how this truck currently sits!

Under the curved hood is a drivetrain pulled from a Silverado Pickup consisting of a 5.3 liter V8 mated to an automatic transmission.  A Mustang II front end was utilized to help make the engine swap work. Disc brakes have been added front and rear, and a Wilwood brake booster is mounted under the hood.  This setup gives this Studebaker more than enough power and a more laid back driving experience. The underside of the truck is very clean with everything having been neatly installed.  Widened steel wheels and trim rings paired with rear coilovers give this truck an aggressive, raked stance.

Inside the cab, the factory bench seat has been replaced by a pair of bucket seats, a modern stereo with a vintage look has been added, and a Vintage Air A/C system was installed - a welcome feature for those warm days!  Other interior features are tilt wheel, three point seatbelts, AutoMeter Gauges, new headliner, and new carpeting.

The exterior has been left pretty standard through the restoration other than a few subtle changes.  When the Studebaker trucks left the South Bend Indiana factory they came with a contrasting lighter color grill, this truck has a body color matched grill giving the truck a bit of a smoother look.  The rear bumper has been deleted, and the tail lights and fuel filler have been neatly added to the ends of the bed. A wood slat bed finishes off the clean, sleek look of this unique Studebaker.

This awesome pickup is ready for a new home, so why not be different and consider this Studebaker rather than all the 50's Fords and Chevys out there.  Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
