1970 Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe Sedan

All Original, Numbers Matching - ONLY 7,577 verified miles - Collector Beetle - Extraordinary Condition -

Garage Kept Motors is pleased to present the cleanest and most original Beetle on the market. This 1970 Volkswagen was delivered new to Tom Gleason Volkswagen of Flint,Michigan.  It is a true time-capsule, collector Beetle, only traveling 7,577 miles since it was purchased on August 18th 1970!  Everything you see is original to the car, and we even have the original window sticker. We know that over the years there were millions of Beetles made, but to find an all original, extremely low mileage Beetle that is in showroom condition is super rare.

Our client has owned the vehicle since 1992 and it has been a staple of his collection. This car was extremely well cared for, and it's apparent that it was always kept in a climate controlled environment.  Throughout the car the rubber trim and plastic pieces are excellent condition. There is no heavy musty smell inside the car (it actually smells new still) and the paint shows extremely well. We should also mention that because of the low mileage and amazing condition that the car is in, we wanted to verify its originality. So, we hired John Hansen of Michigan Automotive Inspection Services to substantiate that the car is everything we claim it is. Mr. Hansen did just that - everything is there like its supposed to me. As we expected, the conclusion is that the mileage is correct, the drivetrain is numbers matching, and the car is all original. In addition to the original window sticker, we have the original owner's manual, maintenance record book, VW distributor and dealer book, diagnosis coupons, '70 Beetle brochure, and the original selling dealer license plate frame.

The exterior is finished in the Royal Red paint applied by the factory. That's right, no repaint here, and the paint is in excellent condition! While looking at the car, you may notice a few added parts and pieces on the exterior. This car has a number of dealer added accessories - chrome tail light trim, mudflaps, rear bumper reflectors, chrome trim on vents below back window, chrome door handle and bonnet handle trim, chrome front and rear fender trim, and chrome window trim.  Other than the dealer added parts it's a clean, solid, standard Bug. Other standard equipment that this car came with that is worth highlighting are, steering wheel lock, rear electric window defroster, heater, and a day/night rearview mirror. Inside, the standard bucket seats still wear the optional black Leatherette trim, and appear brand new. They pretty much are. Our enthusiast eyes see no issues with the interior - it is just the way it looked when it rolled off the dealer lot in 1970.  Simply put, this thing is mint, all interior surfaces are in awesome condition from top to bottom!

Mounted in an extremely clean engine compartment, the engine is a numbers matching, standard 1600cc/1.6L motor. The displacement is up from the 1500cc engine offered in the 1969 Beetles. Volkswagen updated the Beetle's 4 speed manual transmission slightly for the 1970 model year.  The '70 Beetles benefited from diaphragm clutch springs which require less pressure on the clutch pedal, and new 3rd and 4th gears with finer teeth for reduced noise. This car is a turn-key car,  not just for rolling around with no running engine. Should you decide to drive this Bug, turn the key and the engine fires as it should, and all gears are easy to engage. The underside of the car is as clean and original as the rest of the car.

We would love to see this amazingly original Beetle go to a new enthusiast home where the new owner will appreciate it, and take extremely good care of it just as the past owners have. You could say that it's getting up there in age at 49 years, but it looks as though this car has been bathing in the fountain of youth…or maybe rolled out of a time machine that just arrived from 1970.  Regardless of its age in years, this car is truly special. A true survivor Beetle with the lowest original miles you'll find anywhere. Worthy of any collection. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
