2007 BMW 328xi
AWD 6-Speed Coupe
2007 BMW 328xi Coupe
Too often, a “value-priced BMW” is a car to be wary of. Its lower price may indicate a questionable history, or undisclosed abuse by prior owners. Choosing the wrong “ultimate driving machine” can result in a frustrating ownership experience rife with expensive deferred maintenance and unanticipated repairs. Having said all that, however, locating a lower-priced, well looked-after, adult-owned BMW—rare as it may be, especially if it's a 6-speed manual with all-wheel drive—is worth a celebration… at least for the driver who gets to own it.
Here we have just such a special find, a legitimate BMW value. We know this Sparkling Graphite Metallic (color code A22) example is a sound car for several reasons. First and foremost, we have looked it over carefully. Second, as we always do, we carefully checked the CarFax (and we encourage prospective buyers to do the same). Finally, the car is now owned by one of our employees, a guy who is pretty demanding when it comes to choosing his cars. It is only for sale as he is moving to the upper peninsula where a truck suits the terrain better.
As the more than 150 photographs on GarageKeptMotors.com show, the condition of this BMW 328xi coupe is remarkable. Then again, at under 9,000 miles-per-year, it fully qualifies as a low-mileage example. The color combination is stunning with the Dakota Cream leather and dark burled walnut trim complementing the rich exterior paint. The orange-illuminated instruments add a warm touch to this E90 series car and reflect its lineage extending back to early 3-series BMWs. All interior surfaces—dash, steering wheel leather, wood trim, front-bucket and split-folding rear bench seat and door leather, carpeting, and headliner—are in exceptional condition. (Note: When an owner has used WeatherTech®floor mats both inside the car, and in the trunk as well—all included here—it's a good general indicator of overall fastidious vehicle care.)
A look at the CarFax shows ownership history in Wisconsin and Michigan with regular care and maintenance performed by BMW dealerships in both states. The car was sold as a BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in 2010. Dealers will only certify cars in excellent condition since follow-up warranty repairs for a specified time are the manufacturer's responsibility. The VIN decode available online shows a very highly optioned car with more than 30 codes including sport leather steering wheel (S255A), inside mirror with digital compass (S431A), glass power sunroof (S403A), integrated universal garage-door remote (S319A), electric-adjustable seats with memory (S459A), several sound-system upgrades, and more. The car comes with both remote keys, a full set of original owner's manuals, and documentation of recent service.
The advertising writes itself: “Beautiful 2007 BMW 6-speed AWD E90/328xi, low-mileage, wonderful condition throughout, lots of options, and a stunning color combination.” (And see, we didn't even mention “value-priced.”)
