Fully Documented, California 289 Coupe

Emberglo
Black
289 V8
Automatic

Offered here is a clean, highly original, and fully-documented first generation Mustang 289 Coupe from California. It comes with ALL original documentation, including original bill of sale, original window sticker, original loan information, and a folder full of receipts dating back to new. Not reproductions - the original paperwork! That is unheard of for a car 50 years old. The car is finished in rare factory original Emberglo (code V) paint over the original Black with Black Trim (code 26) interior. It is powered the original 289ci/200hp (C code) V8 with the original C4 Automatic transmission.

On March 22, 1966, Dick Cremeni, salesman at Cort Fox Ford of Hollywood, CA, sold this 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop to Ruth M. Klier of Los Angeles for an out the door price of $3,247.08. She took out a loan to seal the deal and even traded in her 1961 Buick Special Sedan for a $500 credit. The car was optioned with the 289 2V 8-Cylinder engine ($104.84), Cruise-O-Matic cruise control ($183.99), Power Steering ($83.86), AM Radio ($57.09), Tinted Windshield ($20.94), and Ford Air Conditioner with Heater ($308.66). Three years later, she paid off the lien with Security Pacific National Bank. The car remained in California with routine maintenance performed until the year 2000 when our client's nephew purchased the car and brought it to Arizona. In 2013, our client acquired the car from his relative and brought the car to Michigan.

Since being in Michigan, it has always been garage-kept and handled with care. Our client has rebuilt and/or replaced the following components: new upper and lower A arms and bushings, all new ball joints, new control arm bushings, new shocks, new wheel bearings, rebuilt power steering control valve, new slave cylinder boot, new U-joints, new tires, new water pump, all new belts, new vacuum advance, plug wires, cap, rotor, condenser, points, new heater core, new shoes, new wheel cylinders, new flex brake lines, and only one upgrade in the dual master cylinder. Clearly its been cared for but it is now time for a new garage with a new owner to enjoy it.

The car starts on command, runs well, and drives true. You don't find the Emberglo paint color often, especially on a fully documented 289 California Coupe. It is a beautiful example and we are honored to have it for sale. Call or e-mail if interested. Be sure to check out over 100 photos and video on our website. Thank you for looking.
