Who doesn't love an old truck? These utility vehicles represent what has kept this country going and growing. From farmers, builders, oil field personnel, or in general, anyone else who works in the trades knows the importance of the most important tool in their arsenal to get the job done, their truck! Family businesses were built out of the back of pick-ups and also did double duty after hours as the family's second vehicle. If you were raised in one of these families, then you probably have long-running memories of riding in the back of the family pick-up, learning to drive behind the wheel, maybe going on your first date in it, or enjoying a lunch break on the tailgate of a work truck on a job site or in the field. It is perhaps both the role these vintage trucks played in building our great country and the memories generated around them and the families that owned them that have made antique trucks one of the top automotive collectibles. Featured here is a thoroughly restored 1949 Dodge B-1B-108 that is ready to create some new memories with a new family.

The red finish on the cab and black paint on the truck bed have all been well applied over professionally executed bodywork. This is an older restoration and there are some mild paint swirls in the finish however the paint presents with a brilliant shine. The factory trim and chrome have been restored and shines with a deep luster. The truck bed has been refinished with stainless bed strips and hardware and stained varnished wood.

Inside the cab has been fully restored with interior metal painted to match the body color. The black seat upholstery, interior body panels, and rubber floor mat are all new. The instrument panel includes the original gauges and features simple mechanical controls for heat, vent, choke, and throttle. A vintage turn signal kit has been installed as turn signals were not yet mandatory on vehicles in 1949.

Under the hood, the engine compartment presents well and is certainly worthy of having the hood up at local car shows and cruise-ins. The restoration was complete and well done, including factory decals. The 6-volt wiring was upgraded to a 12-volt to ease operation for ease of operation.

Underneath this truck is clean and rust-free and it is clear this was a full nut and bolt restoration that has aged well. Upon inspection, you can see the brake and fuel lines, exhaust, steering, and suspension pieces have all been replaced or restored. This truck rolls on steel wheels with era-correct bias ply tires.

This really is a great-looking truck that would be perfect for promoting a business such as a farmers' market or Christmas-related retail business. It is ready for parade duty and would look great with the high school cheer team in the back for the big homecoming parade or just simply to gather the family to help the children build some great memories, because, after all, every child really should know the simple joys of riding in a pick-up bed.
