Bright paint color, forward rake, hood scoop, hood pins, a large displacement engine, and fast straight line acceleration are all things that may come to mind when thinking of a muscle car. This Road Runner has all of those things and more, which is a result of a well thought out build. It's no surprise to see a car like a Road Runner finished in a bright color like the green you see on this particular car, it looks fantastic. Though it didn't come from the factory in a bright color, it suits the car well. The car you see here is a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner finished in Synergy Green over a black interior, and featuring a customized 440ci V8 engine under the hood.

It wasn't until 1969 that MOPAR introduced the high impact paint color chart, which included familiar names like Lemon Twist, Tor-Red, Vitamin-C, and Lime Light, to name a few. You really can't go wrong with a MOPAR vehicle like a Road Runner, Barracuda, or Challenger from this era painted in a bright color. The eye-catching bright green paint on this car is known as Synergy Green or Dragon Green, which is a color that was used by GM in the 2010 to 2017 model years. This car left the factory in Frost Blue, which is on a whole different spectrum compared to the Synergy Green. The Green paint was applied to the car during the recent restoration process and was clearly applied by a professional. There is no evidence of the original blue. The paint's great depth, amazing gloss, and an even coat help bring out the chrome bumpers and chrome trim throughout the car. A matte black hood with large hood scoop, and hood pins help feed fresh air for the 440 under the hood to swallow. As you can see in our photos, the trunk lid has been smoothed in the area between the tail lights, and even a subtle change like that gives the car a different look.

With the outside looking so nice, it's only right that the interior be finished to a high standard. Black bucket seats with custom embroidered Road Runner logos on the head rests sit on either side of a floor mounted B&M shifter. The dashboard itself looks pretty standard apart from an aftermarket Sony stereo, and the Holley Sniper info screen, otherwise the standard sweeping speedometer, and collection of neatly labeled switches can be found.

Under the hood is a 440ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. The engine is a custom built unit with all sorts of aftermarket goodies working together. The engine sits in a neat and tidy engine bay, and has MOPAR branded valve covers and a matching air cleaner cover. Holley ignition components, Wilwood brake components, aftermarket fans, and the pairing of a Holley Dominator intake manifold, and the Holley Electronic Fuel Injection system are other highlights. The underside of the car is extremely clean, really in like new condition. American Racing wheels are wrapped in sticky Nitto tires on all four corners of the car.

Bright paint, a big motor, and bucket seats are just a few of the highlights of this amazing Road Runner. A result of a careful restoration and a number of great upgrades this car is definitely a ride that will attract the attention of MOPAR fans.
