RTR stands for "Ready to Rock!"

In keeping with an enhanced-performance ethic that dates back to the earliest hot-rodders, RTR is an American automotive company founded in 2009 by Vaughn Gittin, Jr. to design, develop, and manufacture “OEM+” performance-vehicle packages for select offerings from Ford's product line.

The Series I 2010 RTR Mustang offered here—one of the first two created by Gittin in 2010—was built for the SEMA show in the first full year (Generation 1) of the RTR operation (now in its 11th year of operation). Some of the performance and cosmetic upgrades on the car include:

RTR Graphics Package
RTR Exterior Badging
RTR Interior Badging
RTR Serialized Dash Plaque signed by Vaughn Gittin Jr
RTR Shift Knob for the 5-speed transmission
RTR Floor Mats
RTR 19x9.5 Dark Matte Charcoal Wheels
RTR Front Chin Assembly with Splitter & Support by Classic Design Concepts
RTR Side Rocker Splitters by Classic Design Concepts
RTR Aluminum Spoiler by Classic Design Concepts
RTR Rear Diffuser by Classic Design Concepts
Ford Performance Shocks, Struts, and Lowering Springs
Ford Performance Axle Back Exhaust
Ford Performance Tune with Calibration Tool
K&N High Flow Air Filter
Baer Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors

This Mustang RTR shows just under 47,000 miles, or a conservative 4,300 miles per-year since new on average. Most important, the condition of the car clearly shows it has been properly respected and maintained, and not subjected to any abusive driving in that time.

The exterior red paint displays even gloss across all body panels, and the carbon-fiber roof panel is pristine. Shadow-black trim and stripe-graphics on the car's hood and flanks retain their as-new finish. The front of the car—including the splitter and twin blacked-out grilles—is free of damage, as are the lower body-side ground-effects panels. In the rear, the full-width black panel and deck spoiler are similarly free of flaws. The RTR bespoke charcoal 19.5-inch wheels are free of curb marks, and discreet, but unmistakable, “RTR” badging is properly affixed on the wheel center-caps and on the car's front fenders..

Inside, the classic black theme is in keeping with the serious-performance ethic. All surfaces are free of obvious or excessive wear. Two front Sparco racing seats with full five-point safety harnesses anchored on the roll bar reinforce that theme. (The roll bar replaces the rear seats.) An MSD shift light is mounted to identify max-rpm shift points. Dash instruments feature “RTR” branding, and the glove-box door displays a plaque bearing Vaughn Griffin's signature and the car's “002” RTR serial number. In like fashion, door-sill plates include the inscription: “Built for SEMA 2009.” On the console, the manual 5-speed transmission's shift knob displays “Ford Racing” branding. The car's carpeted trunk floor is open to the cabin, and includes a complete floor-jack mounted in place. In the cabin, RTR-embroidered carpet floor mats are in place.

Under the louvered hood, RTR performance modifications dominate the view. Atop the 4.6-liter Ford V8 with its Ford-blue valve covers, the branded “Ford Racing | Whipple Supercharger” makes a powerful (no pun intended) statement. Similarly, the free-flow K&N system ensures ample air supply for the engine. The entire engine bay is clean and properly laid out. Viewed from below, the car's chassis shows no damage whatsoever from too-aggressive driving; the large-diameter dual exhausts (with crossover pipe) have not suffered any impact-related damage.

While the more than 160 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this Mustang RTR in great detail, we encourage and expect in-person inspections by interested parties or their representatives at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance, or get in touch by phone or email if you have any questions. Our showroom is not open to the public.

The “1-of-2” designation from the earliest year of RTR offerings marks this Mustang as a legitimately collectible automobile. As, or more important, the RTR equipment and tuning , as well as the superb condition of the car, make this a very satisfying performance automobile. The combination of the two means this opportunity for ownership won't come around again very soon.
