At first glance this car is the result of a completely radical build. While that may be true, despite the radical look, it is clearly the result of a professional build. It is well done, tidy, and a lot of very nice components were used. The paint color is awesome and truly hard to miss! Speaking of color, Mattel used a group of 12 colors which had metallic finishes reminiscent of this car's color with the “SpectraFlame” hues. These were the colors used on the first Hot Wheels cars from 1968-1972. Though tame compared to many of the first Hot Wheels cars, being from the same era, a miniature version of this Corvette would look great in a Hot Wheels blister pack. The vehicle you see here is a 1975 Chevrolet Corvette finished in Brandywine Red over a black interior.

A Corvette built as a Pro Street car? Why not?! Not only are the C3 Corvettes good looking, but the body lines are sleek and slippery. A curvy body, long nose, and a passenger area toward the back of the car over the rear wheels is a great combination for a car bent on going fast. It's clear that this car was built for speed, having the hallmark items to get moving quickly, and to do so safely. The suspension has been adjusted to give the car a nose down rake, a roll cage has been added, and a parachute sits just aft of the meaty rear tires. A wheelie bar helps keep any possible undesirable acrobatics under control.

In the light of our showroom, the metallic Brandywine Red paint glows. It's a special color, which really complements the flowing lines of the C3 generation Corvette. This car is the result of a build which was done several years ago, so there are little imperfections in the paint, and being a Corvette there are a few spots visible where the fiberglass has flexed, but overall the exterior is very nice. Weld wheels on all four corners are another hint that the car is ready to race. Multi piece wheels have been used on the rear of the car and are wrapped in meaty Hoosier tires. Sidewall flex on a drag strip can't be too difficult to achieve thanks to the engine that is both under, and coming through the hood.

A polished BDS blower sucks air into the 532ci V8, which when mixed with the other ancillary engine components help to produce approximately 700 rear wheel horsepower. The exhaust is routed out of the side of the car, and allows you to hear the “choppy” idle that the custom engine emits. Gear selection is handled via a Turbo 400 transmission. The brakes on all four corners are discs, which helps in making this car something that can be street driven. It runs on 93 octane fuel, and is sure to put smiles on people's faces who see this car at a gas pump.

Like the exterior, the interior is well done and clean. AutoMeter gauges take the place of the standard Corvette gauges in the center of the dashboard, and the usual speedometer and tachometer locations. The standard shifter area has been tastefully modified to house a line of toggle switches and the B&M shifter. Mounted on the center section of the T-Top frame is the lever for the parachute which is another reminder that this car is built for speed. As if you needed another reminder.

This car is the culmination of a carefully thought out, and professionally completed build. It's an awesome car that can knock your socks off, or get you to the corner store - quickly. The build was done right and the car has been well taken care of over the years. Unlike peeling a miniature version from a Hot Wheels blister pack, this car is something that you can hop in, drive, rev, and make some noise with.
