The 1970 model year seems to be a sweet spot for the era of the muscle car. Many agree that the most sought after muscle cars were of the 1970 model year. The 442, GS cars, the GTO cars, Challengers, 'Cudas, and of course the Chevelles were all making bold statements in 1970. A Chevelle SS like this one is a great example of the muscle cars that were rolling out of showrooms all across the country. Available with large displacement engines, they were cars that looked cool, sounded good, and could light up the tires with a good stab of the go pedal. The car you see here is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS finished in Red over a Red and White interior, and showing approximately 1,029 miles on the digital odometer.

You can't go wrong with a bright red Chevelle. Red paint covering the Coke-bottle shape of the car accented with white racing stripes and aftermarket wheels make this car hard to miss. The paint shows well with even gloss and was clearly professionally applied during the restoration. Trim, and chrome components show very nicely, and the exterior lights are in great condition. The car rolled off the production line at the Arlington Texas assembly plant finished in Green Mist (code 45) with a Green vinyl top, however there is no evidence of the color change. In the car's current form, we think that the color scheme of bright red paint and white racing stripes makes a bit more sense. American Racing wheels sized 18” at the front and 20” in the rear update the exterior styling further.

A strong contrast in color inside the car come in the form of dark red carpeting and dashboard, with seats and door panels finished in white. Certainly not a common color combination, but there is more than meets the eye inside the car if you take a really close look. Aftermarket gauges are neatly integrated in the usual gauge locations, a Vintage Air control panel sits in the middle of the dash, and a Holley Terminator screen is mounted on the center console. The interior is tidy and well kept,

Under the hood is a 6.0 Liter LS engine mated to an automatic transmission. The engine swap was neatly done, with wiring having been wrapped, and secured throughout the engine bay. The engine has some visible bolt on upgrades like an open element air filter, CarBole ignition coils, Accel plug wires, exhaust headers, CVF serpentine kit, aluminum radiator, and electric fans. A set of Wilwood brakes can be seen behind the American Racing wheels. Under the car is well kept with modifications being a black transmission cross member, custom exhaust with remote cutouts, new fuel tank, and upgraded suspension components including Koni shocks, anti-roll bar, and traction bars.

You can't go wrong with a bright red '70 Chevelle, this car is turning heads in our showroom, so it's sure to turn heads on the street. This car has the goods, awesome looks, a professionally completed engine swap, and upgraded suspension components. Park this in your garage and you've got a gem from what many consider to be the pinnacle of the muscle car era. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking.
