Sitting in the Porsche 911 lineup between the base Carrera and the potent 911 Turbo is the 911 C4S, like the car you see here. More power, larger brakes, slightly different looks, and goodies like the Sport Chrono components help set the C4S apart from the base 911. You could look at it as the sometimes-mouthy middle sibling that hasn't quite reached the rebelliousness of the older sibling. Able to perform at a high level when necessary, but most of the time likes to fly under the radar. The car you see here is a 2013 Porsche 911 C4S finished in Silver Metallic over a Black interior, and showing approximately 61,731 miles on the digital odometer.

Porsche fans who like to keep track of all the small details of each 911 iteration will likely notice the small differences found on this C4S. To start, the front bumper of the 4S has a few extra intake ducts, the front lower spoiler is painted body color, the fenders are just a little wider, there are four tailpipes, and a tail light panel stretches between the tail lights just below the decklid. This particular car also offers a “Ducktail” spoiler reminiscent of the spoilers first seen on the early 70's 911 RS 2.7 cars. The “Ducktail” immediately sets this car apart from others, and we wholeheartedly approve of this styling cue. The car sits on 20” stylized 5 spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires.

Found inside the car is a comfortable and familiar interior complete with a starter switch to the left of the steering column, which keeps with 911 tradition. The interior is finished in black leather, and offers options such as Sport Chrono, XM Radio and Navigation capable unit, heated and ventilated seats, dual zone climate control, and glass sunroof. The interior of this car has been well kept and includes all weather floor mats, should you choose to take advantage of the all wheel drive of this 911 and drive the car in snow.

Ticking the option box of the “S” model when ordering a 911 C4 adds 50 horsepower to the cars horsepower rating, leaving the final power at an even 400 horsepower. A quick shifting PDK transmission mated to the 3.8 Liter flat-6 engine handles gear selection in this particular 911, and the combination of the engine and transmission send the car from a stop to 60mph in about 4 seconds flat. Helping to bring the car to a stop are larger brakes peeking out from behind the front wheels. The engine bay is a bit different than the air cooled 911 cars, while clean, the engine bay is covered in plastic covers. The underside of the car is also has a number of plastic covers in this case for aerodynamic reasons. However, the underside of the engine at the rear of the car is uncovered allowing you to see exhaust manifolds, heat shields, an anti-roll bar, and other suspension goodies. Speaking of suspension, the C4S 911 cars benefit from Porsche's Active Suspension Management (PASM) which measures parameters like steering input, suspension bump, and body roll. The PASM system uses the data to adjust the dampers for optimum handling, or comfort.

The C4S is a grin inducing, capable sports car which leaves many looking at it wondering what it is actually capable of. It's not a Turbo, and it's clearly not a base 911. The next owner of this car will quickly find out that this C4S is a very capable, and grin inducing sports car.
