We are happy to offer a more friendly version of a Humvee, for average, everyday civilian use. It's no Humvee painted in olive drab or tan, but it's an SUV that anyone can use on the roads. The original Hummer or HMMWV made by AM General, which was later nicknamed the Humvee, is a big, rough, rugged vehicle initially made for military use. Civilians who wanted something different to drive began buying the Humvee, one notable early Humvee owner was Arnold Schwartzenegger who initially saw one in an army convoy while filming the movie Kindergarten Cop. They are big vehicles, and people were unsure about the size and the mass of a Humvee. Interestingly enough there are now many Trucks and SUV's driven daily that are bigger than the original Humvee in both size and mass. Later, GM acquired the rights to the Hummer from AM General. A few years later, the H2 was introduced with similar styling cues to the Humvee. The Hummer was made by GM for approximately 10 years, and included the H2, smaller H3, and H3 Truck. The Hummer H2 vehicles were actually assembled at the Mishawaka Indiana plant where the Humvee vehicles were produced. The vehicle you see here is a 2003 Hummer H2 finished in Black over a gray interior, and showing 78k miles on the odometer.

The Hummer brand was a nameplate for GMC, therefore, if you look closely, it is possible to spot many components carried over from the GMC Yukon, and Sierra pickup truck line. This Hummer is finished in Black paint and maintains a stock look. As a one private owner vehicle, the exterior is in nice condition, and was clearly cared for since new. Exterior features include a grille guard, running boards, cab lights, chrome mirrors and door handles, roof mounted luggage rack, tail light guards, tow hitch receiver, and alloy Hummer wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrain tires.

Since the interior is based on a GMC SUV/Truck platform, the interior is nicely appointed. This Hummer's interior is finished in a color that GM called Wheat, which is in essence tan. Once seated inside, you don't feel as if you're sitting quite as high as a GMC SUV thanks to the Hummer's narrow window openings and lower roofline. However, the interior offers not only a rugged look, but also plush seats, CD Stereo with Bose speakers, dual zone climate control, sunroof, folding back seats, and a single “jump seat” next to the spare tire at the rear.

Like the Humvees, the hood of this H2 moves forward for access to the engine. A 6.0L Vortec V8 engine is at the front, another familiar component from GMC, and is connected to a 4-speed automatic. Off-roading abilities are impressive thanks to the 4x4 system, V8 engine, and low approach angles. This Hummer has just over 78k miles on the odometer, and was clearly well maintained.

Civilians loved the concept of a friendlier Hummer that could be driven daily without the worry of being too large a vehicle to fit in parking lots or home garages. The rugged looks, powerful engine, 4x4 system, and comfortable interior made the H2 desirable for famous people and suburban families. Here is your chance to own a well maintained, Black H2 Hummer.
