Since the inception of the Mustang there have been a number of memorable iterations. A few specifically come to mind, from the mid 1960's model which started the pony car race, the “fox body” generation in which you could put “the ragtop down so your hair can blow”, to the complete redesign in the late '90's, the Mustang has always been part of American pop culture. With this all-electric vehicle, another branch of the Mustang family tree has been added.

It's a Mustang, has Grabber Blue paint, it's a Premium First Edition, will run 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds, and it's all electric. Yes, as most people know, this is an all electric Mustang called the Mach-E. It was a shock to many folks when the Mach-E hit showrooms, but this really is an all electric Ford which is wearing the Mustang badge. It should come as no surprise to car enthusiasts that as the electric vehicle market grows, long standing models like the Mustang, F-150, and heck, even the Corvette are going the electric route. On the Mach-E, Mustang coupe styling cues are all there from the vertical 3 section tail lights, to nice alloy wheels, sculpted body styling and of course, the iconic Mustang logo. So here it is folks, like it or not this electric Mustang is here for your consideration.

We know you know that this Mustang doesn't have a rumbling V8 under the hood, but let's talk about what the Mach-E is, and what features it has. As you would expect of a Mustang, this vehicle has sleek and chiseled styling that features an aggressive front end, and tail light treatment that is clearly Mustang. This particular Mach-E is finished in Grabber Blue, which is a color only available on the First Edition vehicles. Another way to spot a First Edition Mach-E is the red brake calipers hiding behind 19” alloy wheels. Other exterior styling features include LED lighting, folding heated mirrors, rear spoiler, panoramic roof, and charge port door.

Attributed to the rather different shape than that of the Mustang coupe, the interior of the Mach-E is very spacious. Gone are the analog gauges in front of the driver, replaced with a neat electronic screen which displays things like a speedometer, and battery life. Battery life being displayed may take some getting used to, but the interior is very nicely finished. The black heated and ventilated seats, and the black dashboard have blue stitching, which are First Edition exclusives. Additionally, the aluminum door sill plates, and the aluminum pedals are First Edition exclusives. The large center screen can share a great deal of information with vehicle occupants such as climate control information, navigation, stereo information, parking camera display, and vehicle drive modes. One peculiar bit of kit that this Mach-E has is a “frunk”, or front trunk. That in of itself is not peculiar in the world of electric vehicles, but the fact that the frunk liner is removable and can be drained is. It's great for filling with ice and adding your favorite drinks at a picnic, or tailgate party. Not necessarily a “tail” gate vehicle, but having a frunk party is doable we suppose.

This Premium First Edition Mach-E has an approximate driving range of 270 miles between charges. Rapid charging systems are available for your home, and a growing network of charging stations across the country allow for charging on the go. Electric All Wheel Drive is a great feature that this Mach-E has, giving driver's surefootedness in any terrain or weather conditions.

As the first iteration of a fully electric Mustang, we agree that Ford did a great job, from the exterior styling, to the interior layout and feel. We wonder what is in store for future generations of electric Mustangs. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
