There is more than meets the eye when it comes to this '56 Chevy 210. Tasteful changes have been made to the car, which blend right in with the original body shape. All areas of the car have been carefully restored and in some cases reworked. For your consideration is a custom 1956 Chevrolet 210 Coupe.
The color combination that the car now has is a little more understated than the original Matador Red and Ivory colors the car rolled off the assembly line with. The current color combination of Maroon and white are divided by the sweeping chrome trim at the side of the car. Exterior paint shines evenly throughout, and the chrome trim is all in great condition. There are not any extras added to the exterior other than the color-matched IROC Camaro wheels. As a hardtop sport coupe, the car does not have a “post” or B-pillar, so windows down cruising is a little more fun. The absence of the B-pillar also makes for cleaner flowing lines when observing the car from the side. The paint is in great condition with even gloss and shine. Body panels line up nicely from the front to rear of the car, and the clever tail light integrated fuel filler area is tidy.
Staying with the understated-custom-theme is the interior. A 1956 Impala gave up its interior for the cause, and the final product has been executed well. This car originally left the factory with a charcoal interior, but now you can see that it is now black. Black pleated door panels, chrome window winders, and door pulls are the first few things that you notice upon entering the car. Bucket seats add a sporty feel along with the center console which houses a clock, the shifter, and an “SS” logo. Chrome trim adorned with the Chevy bowtie stretches across the dashboard. The chrome dash trim is interrupted by the gauge cluster, the radio, and speaker grille which mimics the gauge cluster shape.
The engine bay houses a 350ci V8 mated to a TH400 automatic transmission. Our client checked out the Holley parts catalog and picked out a Holley camshaft, intake manifold, and 4BBL carburetor for the engine. A posi-traction rear end helps get power to the ground, and power disc brakes on all four corners help bring this car to a stop.
Tasteful modifications to this 210 make for a really cool package. This car having been fully restored, well kept, and a non-post car really make it intriguing. The classic 210/BelAir shape and styling, with a two tone paint job help keep the nostalgic feel of a classic Chevrolet. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions.
