This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is one of a pair of 80s Carreras we have available for sale here at Garage Kept Motors. It's hard to believe this beautiful roadster is 35 years old. If you are of the Generation X demographic it probably seems like just yesterday a poster of this car hung on the wall in your bedroom. You no doubt went to bed each night dreaming of Rebecca De Mornay in the passenger seat and repeating to yourself as you fell asleep, “Porsche. There is no substitute.” That mantra still holds true today and certainly with this particular car.

Featured here for sale is a 1987 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet. This clean Red over black car originated from California. The red finish is well cared for and shines brilliantly. Black rubber trim and bumper strips are well maintained and present well. The black canvas top has been recently replaced and fits well with a clear and clean rear plastic window.

Inside the cabin, the black interior has been well cared for and presents as all original. The upholstery and carpet show only some light wear, typical signs of past driver enjoyment. The leather-wrapped steering frames full factory instrumentation directly in front of the driver to monitor engine vitals at a glance. This car features power windows, power seats, cruise control, and air conditioning. The factory stereo has been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/AUX input stereo with Bluetooth capability to better play the soundtrack of your cruises.

The engine compartment holds the 3.2 H6 hung out over the rear transaxle and is factory rated at 214hp and 195 ft-lb of torque and features a hydraulic clutch. The engine compartment presents as clean and well preserved with many of the factory decals still present and has had a recent tune-up including spark plug wires, and distributor cap. Shifting duties are handled by a 5-speed Getrag G50 with synchromesh which provides smooth accurate shifts. Underneath the car presents as original and unrestored and there are no indications of any rust or collision repair. This car features four-wheel disc brakes and the optional 16” Fuchs wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Radial performance tires.
