2013 marked the beginning of the 5th Generation of the acclaimed Dodge Viper. This year and until 2015 the Dodge brand was dropped and Mopar's high end super car was renamed the SRT Viper, for the famed Street Racing Technology group that had been responsible for the development of the Viper. This generation featured improved body aerodynamics with fully functional air induction scoops. Cold air enters the engine at the hood scoops, outboard inlets in the front fascia pull drag-reducing air around the front tires and the rear brake ducts behind the side windows bring in air to cool the rear brakes. The upgrades to the body helped to increase interior roominess and improvements to frame rigidity sharpened handling characteristics. SRT engineers implemented suspension enhancements which reduced the Vipers harsh ride and at the same time improving road manners to better wrangle the V10 power through the corners. Among enthusiasts the 5th Gen is considered one the best generation of Vipers ever built.

Under the hood sits the 8.4 litre aluminum block V10 factory rated at 640 hp @ 6200 rpm with 600 lb-ft@ 5000 rpm. The engine compartment is clean and well maintained. Power is transferred to a 6-speed Tremec manual transmission back to a limited slip differential with 3.55 gears in an independent rear suspension. Braking is provided by four-wheel 14” disc power brakes with anti-lock system. Power hits the road through factory aluminum 18” X 10.5” wheels up front and 19” X 13” wheels in the rear. Pirellis tires P295/35ZR18 are mounted up front with P355/30ZR19 in the rear. The undercarriage is clean and clearly this Viper has only been driven on mild weather days, showing little wear and tear since it left the showroom floor.
