Noted as being the first SUV model developed by Ford, the Bronco was sold for five generations from the 1966 to 1996 model years. A sixth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2021 model year. Originally developed as a compact off-road vehicle using its own chassis, the Bronco initially competed against the Jeep CJ-5, International Harvester Scout, and Toyota Land Cruiser. Following the introduction of the Chevrolet Blazer, Jeep Cherokee, and International Scout II (from 1969 to 1974), demand shifted towards SUVs with better on-road capability, leading to a decline in demand for the Bronco.
Presented here is a 1976 Bronco that rounds out the last years of the first generation of Ford's production. Noted as having the same owner since 1995, this Bronco has lots of updates and is ready for its next adventure. Thanks to teal green paint, tan interior, and tan soft top, this truck is quite charming. Powered by a rebuilt 302ci V8 with automatic transmission and lifted 4x4 stance with 4:10 rear end, this Bronco can tackle any terrain. Included with updated features like power brakes with front discs, power steering and aftermarket stereo, this truck could be considered quite desirable. Our consignor notes a recent service that included an oil change and new starter solenoid as well as a folder with all kinds of receipts.
With the re-introduction of the “new” Bronco, the legacy around this model has only intensified. With the solid truck and small SUV market, these vehicles are not only timeless but retain their collectability status. This is a quality example and would be a great addition to any collection. We hope you take the time to consider this Bronco for your next purchase. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
