Ford introduced the F-Series as a series of light-duty trucks which were produced starting with the 1948 model year. Slotted above the Ford Ranger in the Ford truck model range, the F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks. Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States and has been the highest-selling vehicle overall since 1981.

The eighth-generation F-Series was introduced for the 1987 model year and was a major revision of the 1980-1986 generation. While the cab was carried over, many body panels were revised, including a completely new front fascia and interior redesign. The long-running Flareside bed design was retired, with all eighth-generation examples being produced with Styleside beds. Rear antilock brakes were now standard, the first pickup truck to boast this.

Highlighted here is a true peach of a pickup truck. Hailing from Georgia, this 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat is powered by a 302ci V8 EFI with 5-speed manual transmission. The two-tone blue and black exterior paint has been preserved expertly and is accented nicely with chrome around the wheel wells and windshield. Optioned with power windows, power locks, power steering and air conditioning, this truck blends a work horse and luxury.

The XLT Lariat trim package provides additional upgrades within the cab as well including cloth upholstery, carpeting and a leather wrapped steering wheel. All interior finishes are stock with only slight signs of wear. There are a couple of cracks on the dash above the glove box but overall, the dash pad remains intact.

The engine bay and undercarriage show extremely well with minimal signs of use and age. Within these areas, you can tell that this truck has spent its life in the south.

In general, this is a fantastic pickup truck for the price point and would be an excellent addition to any collector's garage. The XLT Lariat package provides the perfect number of options while the 5.0L V8 is all the power any owner would ever need. We hope that you will consider this Georgia peach as your next purchase.
