No automotive competition is as well-known as the Ponycar Wars of the 1960s. Initially marked by the introduction of Ford's Mustang in 1964, this debut forced General Motors to react with their own response to the new market for personal sporty cars. To directly compete with the Mustang in showroom, stop-light match ups, drag strips, or on road courses, Chevrolet created the Camaro for the 1967 model year. While it is noted that the 35-year battle ended when GM temporarily retired the Camaro in 2002, the battle between these two marques still reverberates today.

Highlighted here is a stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 which is distinguished as a true Z/28, and comes complete with numbered documentation. Sporting a factory correct Burnished Brown exterior paint (code 61) with white stripes that run the length of the vehicle, it's noted that this Camaro was restored in 2021. All exterior finishes are in amazing condition, and shine beautifully. Single round headlight treatment, cowl hood, front spoiler and rear spoiler, and those easily recognizable Z/28 badges make sure that there is no question that this car means business. The paint has great depth and clarity, and the Burnished Brown color was only used on about 2.3% of Camaros produced for 1969. Flying under the radar is a little easier in this car thanks to the darker paint color. Silver Rallye wheels that feature chrome beauty rings and chrome center caps are wrapped in white letter BF Goodrich tires. That classic combination adds to the sporty look of this car.

As you may expect from looking at the condition of the exterior of the car, the interior is also in beautiful condition. Black bucket seats, a console, a tach, faux wood grain trim, center console mounted gauges, and a large shift knob close at hand are a few interior highlights. An aftermarket steering wheel and radio have been added to the car, although the original items are included with the sale.

This vehicle is powered by a numbers matching DZ 302ci/290hp 4bbl V8 engine that is paired with a factory 4-speed manual transmission. It is noted that the engine was rebuilt in 2018 with only 600 miles recorded since the rebuild. Please take a good look at our photos, as we have displayed a number of photos documenting the engine rebuild process and the numbers associated with the engine components. Additional options include a 3.73 posi rear end, front disc, and power brakes.

As previously stated, this Camaro Z/28 is quite a spectacular and documented performance car. The quality of the restoration completed on this vehicle is stunning. If you are looking for a turnkey collector car, this Camaro should be included on any enthusiast's consideration list. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions.
