The idea of the Jeep originated with the military, which needed a low-profile, powerful vehicle with four-wheel drive which became the world's first mass-produced light four-wheel drive car. With almost 650,000 units built, the Jeep constituted a quarter of the total U.S. non-combat motor vehicles produced during the war. Not only did the Jeep become the workhorse of the American military, as it replaced the use of horses and other draft animals in every role, from cavalry units to supply trains, but improvised field modifications also made the Jeep capable of just about any other function G.I.s could think of. Moreover: military jeeps were adopted by countries all over the world, including as far as Africa and Europe, and to this day is the most widely used and recognized military vehicle in history.

Based on the civilian variant, which was drawn from the M38A1 military Jeep, the CJ-5 went into production in 1955. A model that marked a significant departure from the “flat-fender” CJs, with its rounded front fender design and squeezed grille (to accommodate larger headlights). The CJ-5 also included updates such as a hood and body made of heavy gauge sheet metal, a larger windshield frame, increased length on the riding springs, front fitting front adjustable bucket seats, a deeper, back-lit instrument panel, and rear seating options for 4 passengers.

Offered here is a completely customized 1957 Jeep Willys. Painted in matte gray with black accents, this Jeep is the perfect truck for any adventure. With no top or doors, this Jeep is meant for anyone to experience the outdoors and take in all the sights. Although this truck may not be completely restored, it has been well kept. It sports Moto Metal black wheels and front winch.

Under hood is a 350ci V8 with automatic transmission with B&M shifter. The engine compartment and chassis have been cleaned up and put together well with original equipment.

A custom interior sets off the passenger cabin. A bedliner type paint has been used throughout in preparation for any adventure that this Jeep may encounter. In addition, custom gauges compliment the CB radio, as well as the stock AM radio that are mounted in the dash.
Regardless of whether the trails are calling, or if you simply want to join the Jeep family, this custom truck is a sight to see. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
