From Car and Driver, 1989 – “The Mustang LX 5.0 has all the essentials covered. This Ford's 225-hp V-8 engine is a monument to Detroit. It has bags of low-end torque, it pulls like a freight train when unleashed, and it delivers neck-straining power all the way to its redline. It also delights the ears with a rumbling bass burble at idle and a throaty V-8 bellow at speed—two wonderful noises.”

Exterior – By 1989 the Mustang had well settled into its design. A full 10 years after its initial debut and 2 years into a mid-cycle refresh this Mustang was spec'd in wonderful Almond exterior paint with a tan top. With an unbelievable 33,000 original miles this well looked after Mustang shows beautifully. 10-spoke 15-inch wheels are shod in 225/60/15 Goodyear tires. All glass is clear and free of blemishes, and all lights are free of cracks and in working order. Interior – Sand Beige cloth interior still looks factory fresh. Well bolstered and comfortable bucket seats are ready for thousands of miles of enjoyment. Mechanical – 5.0L V-8 provides 225 tire-shredding horsepower. While untouched under the hood, there is an aftermarket cat-back exhaust present to help the engine exhale. The transmission in Fords famous AOD automatic. With up to 24 miles per gallon possible it won't break the wallet either! Disk brakes all the way around help bring things to a stop.
