“Chevy Trucks. Tough and Tightfisted.” -Period Chevrolet truck magazine advertisement

The '87 Chevy K10 offered here is simply a nice, lifted, and refreshed 35-year-old classic pickup that looks nowhere near its age. It didn't just “stay tough,” this truck actually got a lot tougher! The beautiful metallic gunmetal-gray paint on the properly lifted body is a guaranteed eye-catcher.

The truck's exterior has benefitted from a recent professional respray in metallic gunmetal-gray. All body panels—from the hood, across the roof, to the cargo box and tailgate--display high gloss and an absence of scratches, dings, or dents. Chrome bumpers front and rear are in great condition with minimal patina; chrome wheel-arch trim and mirrors add just enough flair. The truck's stock, 6-opening grille flanked by stacked headlights give the truck a tough look. Badging has been simplified to include just the “Silverado 10” front-fender emblems and “Chevrolet”-embossing on the tailgate. The bed of the cargo box shows evidence of light use. Bright-metal, 15-inch, dish-style, alloy wheels are mounted with Mastercraft Courser all-terrain, 33x12LT tires.

Inside the cab, the stock interior look has been maintained but, like the rest of the truck, beautifully refreshed. Red Silverado-package door trim includes window cranks, lower carpeted panels, and a vinyl door pull set on brushed-metal trim. A stock Chevrolet-branded, 2-spoke steering wheel in black frames a padded black-over-red dash. Stock gauges remain mounted, set on a black panel. The bench seat is upholstered in the proper red, vertically pleated, velour fabric trimmed in vinyl. The original Delco-branded push-button AM-FM-cassette player is mounted above stock, slide-lever controls for heat, ventilation, and air conditioning. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is mounted on the column; the transfer case selector lever is mounted on the floor. A separate button controls the fuel level in the two tanks. Cabin floors are covered in dark-red carpeting which is free of excessive wear, and the red headliner is in great condition. The cab features a sliding rear-window.

Under the hood is a 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8, the engine that has reliably powered millions of Chevy pickups. An open-sided, Edelbrock-embossed chrome air cleaner cover adds a bit of flair. Components including air conditioning, an aluminum radiator, wiring, and plumbing are all properly in place. Viewed from below, the lifted suspension components, and properly routed, three-quarter-length, dual-exhaust system are visual focal points. The K10's original identification tags remain mounted. The truck's Service Parts Information tag showing codes for all originally installed equipment is also in place.

While the more than 150 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '87 Chevy K10 in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

As the recent country music lyric goes, “There's just something about a pickup man.” The next owner of this lifted, gunmetal-gray, short-bed '87 Chevy K 10 Silverado can expect that “something” to generate plenty of compliments and serious respect for this one-of-a-kind truck.
