“A good truck can be the start of a long friendship.” – Period GM Pickup Truck magazine ad headline

Hagerty characterized the attractive design of these GM pickups this way: “Whether Chevrolet or GMC, the General's third-generation, 'square-body' trucks were a dramatic departure from the company's previous efforts. The third-gen models featured squared-off front and rear fascia, subtle body contours honed by wind-tunnel testing, a more accommodating and ergonomic interior… a style decades ahead of its time.”

Offered here is a refreshed, tastefully upgraded, and lifted 1984 Chevrolet K10 4WD short-bed pickup in dark-blue over blue. The truck's odometer shows 99,269 miles, or fewer than 3,000 miles per-year since new. Originally a Texas truck, its excellent overall condition indicates proper maintenance and outstanding owner care.

The exterior dark-blue metallic paint displays a perfectly smooth finish and high gloss on every surface, with no indication whatsoever of fading or other damage. All sheet-metal panels are free of dings and dents. The chrome trim—on the front and rear bumpers, fender wheel-opening trim, side mirrors, and window trim—is all in excellent condition. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the truck in the accompanying gallery.) The truck's front stacked-quad-headlight grille (with gold bowtie emblem) and Chevrolet-embossed tailgate are free of noteworthy imperfections. The black-painted cargo box floor shows minor wear from normal use. Lighting lenses and cabin glass—including on the sliding rear window—are perfectly clear and free of cracks. An aggressive lift kit is installed. Bright-metal, 8-hole, dish-style, 15-inch, M/T®-branded wheels (and front locking hubs) are mounted with Mickey Thompson® Baja MTZ LT 31.5 All-Terrain outline-white-letter tires.

Inside, the truck's well-maintained theme continues. Literally every surface, every control, every aspect of the interior fully merits that description, including the blue dashboard wearing its correct “Silverado” emblem set on the brushed-metal dash trim piece. Vertically pleated blue-vinyl seat upholstery is free of wear indications or damage. Blue premium door panels include power-window switches, velour inserts, brushed-metal trim, and blue carpeting on the kick panels. A stock black, 2-spoke, steering wheel with Chevrolet center emblem frames the classic, GM-square-design dashboard. Brushed-metal trim and the full complement of analog instruments are original and in excellent condition. HVAC controls are slide-levers. The shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted on the steering column and the transfer-case selector is floor-mounted. Blue cabin-floor carpeting is installed. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the condition of the Silverado's various interior surfaces.)

Under the hood, the big-block 454-cubic-inch V8 outfitted with a chrome open-sided air cleaner, Holley-branded forged valve covers, and correct orange engine-block paint commands a clean and well-ordered engine bay. Good views of the custom exhaust headers give a hint of the truck's performance. Viewed from below, the truck's chassis is complete, clean, and undamaged. Views of the lower side of the engine, the properly installed lift-kit suspension components, and the three-quarter-length dual-exhaust system are visual focal points. (To best evaluate the condition of undercarriage surfaces, please review the gallery photos shot from below.)

While the more than 145 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '84 Chevy K10 in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

“Chevy Trucks are taking charge.” That was the theme line in Chevy Truck magazine advertisements back in the day. Seeing this tastefully refreshed '84 Chevy K10 big-block, still standing proud nearly 40 years later, shows that ad claim remains accurate, with one added word: “Chevy Trucks are STILL taking charge.”
