“Dodge Rebellion Operation '67” – Dodge Coronet magazine advertisement headline

The advertising copywriters were hardly at a loss for words: “Cut loose. Get away from it all. In a car that's a big cut above the ho-hummers that surround you every time you hit the road. Slip into a Dodge Coronet for '67. Let yourself go. Try Coronet in your driveway. A perfect fit. Try Coronet in your budget. Once again, a perfect fir. Try Coronet on the freeway. They're made for each other. You're on your way to being the envy of the neighborhood. And it isn't going to hurt a bit. Not even if you specify your Coronet with some of the optional items it offers the imaginative. Like engines from the silky smooth 273-cubic-inch V8 to the 393-cubic-inch V8. And TorqueFlite automatic, the slickest way there is to put all those up-and-at-'em horses to work. Even Coronet's list of standard equipment is inviting. Many safety items that used to cost extra. Like a rearview mirror outside on the left, remotely controlled from the inside. And retractable front lap belts. And backup lights. And a dual braking system. All that and more at Coronet's price. Lower, much lower than you would expect. See it today at your nearby Dodge Dealer's. You've heard about the Dodge Rebellion? Now the Dodge Rebellion Operation '67 wants to hear from you.”

Offered here is a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 in white over white with a non-numbers matching MOPAR 383-cubic-inch V8 under the hood. The odometer shows 97,842 which would be equivalent to fewer than 2,000 miles per-year on average since new. The Coronet has been tastefully renewed in period-appropriate fashion.

The refreshed exterior white finish is smooth and properly glossy across all body panels. There are no dings, dents, or other damage to mar the car's appearance. The wide hood scoop is finished in off-white. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) All chrome trim—on both bumpers, the front grille, cabin-glass surrounds, body-side trim strips and wheel-openings, and taillight surrounds—shows very well with negligible patina. Cabin glass and lighting lenses (including the added amber lenses on two of the headlights) are clear and free of cracks. Factory badging includes a Dodge crest in the front grille, D-O-D-G-E lettering atop the hood, “383” engine badges on the front fenders, “C-O-R-O-N-E-T 5 0 0” rear-fender badges, and both Dodge lettering and a Coronet 500 emblem on the rear. Weld Racing® dish-style, 6-hole, bright-finish wheels are mounted with Cornell® 1000 tires in front and larger Cooper® Cobra Radial tires in the rear.

The Coronet's interior has been generally well-kept. White vinyl upholstery features classic vertical pleats and is free of damage. Black carpeting (protected by “Coronet 500”-imprinted rubber carpet mats), a black headliner (showing seam separation and sagging) and black-painted panels on door and cabin-wall trim add flair. Door trim includes “Coronet 500” emblems. A 3-spoke black steering wheel with chrome horn ring and Dodge Division emblem frames the stock horizontal instrument and switchgear array on the black dashboard. An Equus® 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted on the left side of the steering column (much as it might've been back in the day) and the shift lever for the automatic transmission is on the right. Stock controls for HVAC (air conditioning is no longer installed) and the stock push-button AM radio are located to the right with an array of three auxiliary Equus gauges mounted below the dash (again, as they might well have been in the day) to monitor alternator output, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the condition of the Coronet's various interior surfaces.)

Under the hood, the 383-cubic-inch V8 commands a clean, tidy engine bay. Turquoise engine-block paint, a bare-metal manifold beneath the 4-barrel carburetor, an open-sided chrome air cleaner (to allow cold air in via the hood scoop), “MOPAR Performance”-branded finned valve covers, an aluminum radiator, and red wiring all add flair and functionality. Viewed from below, the performance-exhaust headers, three-quarter-length dual-exhaust system with crossover pipe, and very clean lower engine and transmission surfaces are all visual focal points. (To best evaluate the condition of undercarriage surfaces, please review the gallery photos shot from below.)

The car's original identification and information tags remain mounted.

While the more than 160 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '67 Coronet 500 in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Can you ever really go back in time to the early days of Detroit muscle? Can that excitement, sound, and performance really live again? Can vintage MOPAR still scream?

You bet it can.
