“Ten Reasons Why Bronco is the New Frontier in 4WD” – 1982 Ford Bronco magazine advertisement headline

Offered here is a 1982 Ford Bronco in dark blue over gray, fully restored, lifted, and significantly upgraded in 2006. Originally a Colorado truck, in all, the Bronco has amassed 89,690 miles since new, but just 5,000 miles since the restoration was completed.

The exterior dark-blue-metallic paintwork was professionally applied to all body panels (including the added fiberglass fender flares) as well as to the front grille. The fiberglass roof is painted gloss black. The paint finish shows well overall with some fading and patina on the hood and roof. A line of subtle running-bronco custom appliques is incorporated in the paint on the sides of the truck, and a prominent Ford blue-oval logo graphic is centered on the tailgate. There are no dings, dents, or impact damage on any sheet metal or fiberglass body panel. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) The chrome bumpers, grille and window trim, West Coast-style side mirrors, door handles, and dual-exhaust tips are all in excellent condition. Badging is limited to a blue-oval-logo emblem in the front grille and the aforementioned tailgate graphic. Aluminum side-entry-assist steps are installed. Cabin glass and all lighting lenses are clear and uncracked. Chrome, 8-hole, 16-inch Ultra® dish-style wheels are mounted with Mickey Thompson® Baja MTZ 35x12.50 LT off-road tires.

The Bronco's interior has benefitted from a good deal of high-quality, tasteful customization. Gray door panels include new woodgrain trim backing up power-window controls. Black carpeting in excellent condition covers the cabin and cargo-area floors. Tweed-finish gray fabric upholstery with charcoal accents covers the front bucket and foldable rear bench seat; the upholstery is in very well-maintained condition. A commodious storage box separates the two front seats. A black, two-spoke, woodgrain-trimmed steering wheel with Ford logo (and cruise control buttons) frames the square-design dashboard, also trimmed in woodgrain. Full analog instrumentation including a 6,000-rpm tachometer is augmented by two under-dash-mounted AutoMeter® gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The woodgrain-trimmed center stack includes both the upgraded audio head unit and stock slide-lever controls for the factory HVAC systems. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is mounted on the steering column while the transfer-case selector lever is floor-mounted. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the excellent condition of the Bronco's interior surfaces.)

Under the hood, the 460-cubic-inch Ford big block V8, topped by an open-sided air cleaner above a 4-barrel carburetor, and wearing correct Ford-blue engine-block paint, occupies a very clean and properly organized engine bay. All components—including air conditioning—are correctly installed and all hoses and wiring properly routed. Viewed from below, the chassis is pristine, with all surfaces clean and no sign of damage. The components of the lifted suspension, the lower engine and transmission surfaces, and the full-length dual-exhaust system with electrically operated cutouts are all visual highlights.

While the more than 170 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '82 Ford Bronco in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

This blue vintage Bronco will star at any gathering of the blue-oval crowd, or any group of off-roaders. Its next owner can expect to be peppered with compliments, and probably asked for quite a few rides.
