“The 1993 Cobra was the final sendoff for Ford's long-running and incredibly important Fox-body Mustang. During its 15-year run, the advanced Fox platform helped restore the performance credentials Ford's pony car had lost in the 1970s, and proved to be a worthy adversary to the contemporary Camaro and Firebird. The Cobra received some healthy upgrades over the regular Mustang—most notably, a 30-hp bump over the standard 5.0 model, to 235 hp. It also got disc brakes at all four corners—the standard car had rear drums—and a new suspension setup that, according to MotorWeek, made it the best-handling Mustang to date.”

Offered here is a fully documented 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT in Vibrant Red Clearcoat over Opal Grey Leather. Built at Ford's Dearborn Assembly plant on April 8,1993, and sold new at Davies Ford in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, this is one of 1,784 coupes produced in red; one of 4,993 Cobras produced overall in 1993. The Cobra's current odometer reading is 53,151 miles, or fewer than 1,900 miles per-year since new. This is the last year of the venerable Fox-Body Mustang in excellent original condition and an outstanding color combination. Included in the sale (and in the gallery) is the car's original window sticker listing all standard equipment and factory options.

The Cobra's Vibrant Red Clearcoat finish retains a like-new presentation: rich color, smooth-as-glass finish, and deep reflectivity. All body panels are free of dings, dents, scrapes, or other damage. Panel fit is excellent. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Cabin glass and all lighting lenses are clear. Matte-black surfaces on the window trim, side mirrors, door handles, taillights, and headlights are unblemished and fresh-looking. All factory badging is in place, including the running-horse emblem in the front grille, the iconic Cobra front-fender emblems, Ford blue-oval emblem on the rear deck, and “Mustang” graphics on the rear side windows. Cast-aluminum 17-inch wheels are mounted with Nitto® NTSSS 245/45 ZR-rated high-performance tires.

Inside, the same excellent condition prevails across all appointments. The Opal-Grey leather upholstery on the front buckets and rear bench seat features a classic, vertically pleated design; the leather is free of wear or even many indications of use. Cabin and hatch-area carpeting is gray and shows few signs of wear; Cobra-branded protective carpet mats are in place. The gray headliner is similarly without flaws. Leather-trimmed doors include storage pockets and the power-window controls. The black airbag-equipped steering wheel frames comprehensive analog instruments set on the square-design black dashboard. Stock HVAC controls are located on the center stack above the optional premium audio unit installed at the factory. The shift lever for the 5-speed manual transmission is located on the center console forward of the emergency-brake lever and a combination center armrest-storage compartment. The dash includes the classic Mustang emblem facing the front passenger. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the excellent condition of the Cobra's interior surfaces.)

Under the hood, the 5-liter, Cobra-branded Ford SVT V8 commands a stock-appearing engine bay. The clean surfaces and components could not have looked any more proper the day the car was delivered. Viewed from below, the sight is equally impressive: clean components and no hint of damage or abuse. The full-length dual-exhaust system with crossover pipe is a visual highlight. The Mustang SVT Cobra comes with the full complement of owner literature, the previously mentioned window sticker, the order receipt showing specified equipment, and other documentation from the Ford SVT Team. All original identification and information tags remain in place on the car.
