This pickup has a salvage title; the truck has been fully rebuilt as the photos demonstrate.
“Chevy Trucks. Tough and Tightfisted.” -Period Chevrolet truck magazine advertisement
The above-quoted magazine ad went onto trumpet the Chevy pickup's computer-matched brakes (“front disc brakes and finned-drum rear brakes are automatically computer-matched to gross vehicle weight”); tough ladder-type frame (“design allows low cab mounting, easy entry”); counter-angled rear shocks (“to help reduce brake and power hop”); long vehicle life (“95.7% of all Chevy trucks in the ten most recent model years were still on the job.”); and longer service intervals (30,000 miles between spark plug changes, 7,500 miles between oil changes and chassis lubrication, 30,000 miles between air cleaner elements). The ad summed it all up with the Chevy truck theme: "Built to Stay Tough."
The '86 Chevy K10 offered here is compelling proof of truth in advertising: a resurrected, lifted, restored, refreshed, and substantially upgraded, 35-year-old classic Chevy pickup that looks nowhere near its age. It didn't just “stay tough,” this truck actually got a lot tougher! The beautiful non-metallic red paint on the properly lifted body is a guaranteed eye-catcher. Just 54 miles have been put on the truck since its re-birth. Truly a stunning 4-wheeler, this “red-hot” K 10 Silverado pickup is ready for show… or go.
The truck's exterior has benefitted from a recent professional re-spray in Chevy red. (Photo documentation of the work is included.) All body panels—from the hood, across the roof, to the cargo bed and tailgate--display even high gloss and an absence of scratches, dings, or dents. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Chrome bumpers front and rear are in perfect condition; matching chrome wheel-arch and body-side trim adds just enough flair. The truck's stock front grille shows no damage or flaws. All other factory chrome trim is in place and in excellent condition. A Warn® winch is mounted in front. All factory badges and emblems are in place—the gold bowtie grille emblem, “Silverado 10” front-fender emblems, cab-side “Silverado” emblems, and “Chevrolet”-embossing on the tailgate. The long-bed cargo box includes surface protection and is free of damage or wear; a four-point chrome roll cage is mounted. Chrome, dish-style, 10-hole, 15-inch wheels are mounted with Mickey Thompson® 35x12.50LT Baja Boss off-road tires.
Inside the cab, the stock interior look has been maintained but, like the rest of the truck, beautifully upgraded across-the-board. Perfect-condition black door trim includes power-window controls, lower carpeted panels, and a vinyl door pull set on brushed-metal trim. A stock Chevrolet-branded steering wheel in black frames a padded black dash. Stock gauges have been replaced by all-new Velocity® instruments including 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer, voltage-output, oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, and fuel-level gauges. The bench seat has been reupholstered in the proper black vertically pleated fabric trimmed in vinyl. An old-style Chevrolet-branded push-button radio is mounted above stock slide-lever controls for heat, ventilation, and air conditioning. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is mounted on the column; the transfer case selector lever is mounted on the floor. A separate button controls the fuel level in the two tanks. Cabin floors are covered in black carpeting which is free of excessive wear, and the black headliner is pristine. The cab features a sliding rear-window. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the uniformly excellent condition of the Silverado's interior surfaces.)
Under the hood is a 350 cubic-inch Chevy V8 appearing 100% stock. No modifications or dress-up additions have been made. The engine bay is perfectly clean and tidy; components, wiring, and plumbing have all been professionally installed. Viewed from below, the Fox®Shox, lifted suspension components, and properly routed exhaust system steal the show. Rust-inhibitor has been applied to most metal, so no surface rust of any consequence is noted. There is no evidence of any suspension or component damage.
The K10's original identification tags remain mounted. The previously mentioned photo-documentation is included in the sale.

As the recent country music lyric goes, “There's just something about a pickup man.” Whether male or female, the next owner of this lifted, red, long-bed '87 Chevy K 10 Silverado can expect that “something” to generate plenty of compliments and serious respect for this one-of-a-kind beauty. Every stop will draw a crowd.
