Design: “(For 2012) it still keeps the classic Range Rover utilitarian boxy shape, and with exterior appointments such as 19- or 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, and Land Rover's large, three-bar grille and side vents, the Range Rover looks more elegant than ever. A rear privacy glass, sunroof, power fold and heated exterior side mirrors, and heated windscreen are standard on the base model.

Interior amenities: “If you thought the 2012 Range Rover's outside looked nice, wait until you see the inside. The fit and finish in the cabin looks exquisite with the use of quality leather and wood materials, and also present is a host of high-end amenities. Heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, auto climate control, and a seven-inch high-resolution color touch screen with hard drive navigation system comes standard, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, Sirius XM radio, and a 14-speaker audio system."

Performance: “Upgrading to the Range Rover Supercharged with 510 horses under the hood transforms the SUV into a real on-road and off-road rocket. Other upgrades that come with the Supercharged model include Brembo brakes, an electronically locking rear differential, adaptive suspension damping, and blind-spot detection.”

Safety: “The Range Rover is equipped with six airbags, including driver and front passenger dual threshold airbags, side thorax, and head-protection side-curtain airbags. An anti-lock braking system, emergency brake assist, corner, and electronic brake-force distribution are standard, as well as dynamic stability and traction control, and hill descent control.”

Offered here is a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover HSE Luxury SUV in Sumatra Black (code LR 797) over black. The odometer currently reads 68,779 miles, or fewer than 7,650 miles per-year since new, roughly half the mileage Carfax views as “average.” The Range Rover's outstanding overall condition—inside and out—is a tribute to owner care and attention. The two prior owners—both in Kansas--ensured regular maintenance was performed as demonstrated by the multiple entries in the Carfax history.

The condition of the exterior paint is excellent in general with only very light patina confined to the hood. Gloss is excellent, and there is no damage to any sheet metal panels. The brushed-metal-look grille and other body trim pieces are in as-new condition. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Cabin glass (including the more darkly tinted rear-cabin panels) has been well-maintained with no damage; all lighting lenses (including on the LED headlights) are free of cracking or other flaws. Factory 10-spoke, 20-inch wheels showing very light wear (with Range Rover embossing and center caps) are mounted with Michelin® Defender 255/50 all-season tires. The tires were installed new in June, 2020.

The Range Rover's interior condition is also excellent. Door panels are in very good condition with only a small area of surface delamination near the power-window controls on the driver's door; door-sill step-over panels (with “Supercharged” badging) have been well-maintained; black leather seating surfaces show only expected light creasing but no damage; charcoal-gray cabin carpeting is protected with Range Rover-branded, all-weather mats in all seating positions; cargo-area carpeting is free of damage with only a small area showing light staining. The leather-trimmed, 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel with Land Rover center emblem frames the instrument cluster featuring 155-mph speedometer and 6,500-rpm-redline tachometer. The large infotainment screen, climate-control system interface, and traction-control operating knobs are located in the center stack, just forward of the console-mounted shift lever for the automatic transmission. All control surfaces and graphic markings are free of significant damage and retain their nearly new look and feel. The leather dashboard is free of cracks, wear, or other damage. Under the hood, the 5.0-liter supercharged Land Rover V8 commands a pristine and properly ordered engine bay. There are no indications of any performance modifications from stock. Viewed from below, the lower body panels, chassis, and components show no damage of the sort that might exist from too-aggressive driving styles or extensive off-road use.
