“Quick and comfortable: This ain't your daddy's Defender” – Motor Trend, January 2020

Motor Trend reviewer, Angus MacKenzie, went on: “We hit 100 mph. And in a Land Rover Defender, no less; the all-new, 2020 model year long-wheelbase 110, powered by Jaguar Land Rover's new turbocharged, mild-hybrid 3.0-liter engine, to be precise. In the high-spec HSE model I'm riding in… has an eight-speed automatic transmission, computer-controlled all-wheel drive, height-adjustable air suspension with variable rate shocks, 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, and a nice comfy interior with heated leather seats, climate control, and a state-of-the-moment infotainment system.”

Offered here is a 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE in white over light tan. Showing just 7,092 miles on its odometer, the Defender is a very nearly brand-new example of the widely acclaimed reincarnation of the legendary brand's most iconic model.

Outside, the Defender's white paint and black trim is pristine across the entire vehicle. There are no imperfections, much less signs of damage. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Cabin glass, including on the panoramic roof panel and on the rear, side-hinged door, and all lighting lenses are flawless. The deployable running boards operate perfectly. All factory badging is in place. Gloss-black-finished, 5-spoke, 22-inch wheels (with embossed “Defender” identification and Land Rover-logo center caps) are mounted with Continental® CrossContact 275/45 all-season tires. Brake calipers and rotors on all corners are easily visible through the wheel openings.

Inside, the tan-and-black color theme is accented with touches of white for a distinctly upscale Land Rover presentation. As with the exterior, every interior surface is pristine. (Please inspect the photographs of the interior closely.) No wear indications are noted. Light tan leather seat upholstery is particularly attractive and is echoed on the padded dash and door-trim inserts. In keeping with the Defender's high-utility persona, floors are hard-surfaced in gray (black-rubber mats for all seating positions are included in the sale, as are other interior cargo accessories). The rear cargo area includes a divider (for pets or cargo), black rubber-mat flooring, and ample below-the-floor storage. The Defender-branded, multifunction steering wheel frames digital instrumentation with a large infotainment screen to the right above the shift lever for the automatic transmission.

Under the hood, the story's the same: a perfect-condition engine bay commanded by the Land Rover inline-6-cylinder, 3-liter powerplant. Nothing is out of place; no modifications have been made. Viewed from below, the chassis surfaces are similarly flawless with no signs of damage or rust.

The Defender's factory-mounted information and identification tags remain in place. The full complement of owner literature is included in the sale.

While the more than 160 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '20 Land Rover Defender 110 HSE in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Road & Track summed up the new Defender this way: “This Defender is softer, smarter, and more refined than its predecessor without giving up the stoutness and charm that made it a hit. It's the kind of thing that begs you to dive into three feet of standing water yet is perfectly happy to hum along at 80 mph in solemn silence on the way home, content with its own place in the world.”

We'd call that just about a perfect SUV.
