(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 160 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.)

Offered here is a red-over-black (under a black vinyl top) 1970 Nova SS showing the key details known to represent a “real Nova SS.” The car's correct front grille, correct emblems properly placed, together with the numbers-matching Turbo-Fire 350-cubic-inch, 300-horsepower V8 engine and numbers-matching transmission tell the tale. Its original build sheet is also included. A North Carolina car, showing 67,038 miles on the odometer, or fewer than 1,300 miles per-year on average, the cexcellent, original condition is a tribute to the care it's received from prior owners.

The Nova's non-metallic red paint remains in superb condition with good shine overall and even application. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) The blacked-out front grille, characteristic of the SS cars, shows excellent condition as does the body-side trim. Front and rear chrome bumpers are in like-new condition. The proper “SS” emblems fore and aft, the Nova-script badges, and the “350” front-fender emblems remain in place. The factory black vinyl top on the gently sloping fastback (which adds distinctiveness and style) is free of rips or other damage. Cabin glass and all lighting lenses are clear and free of cracks or other damage. Five-spoke styled steel, 14-inch wheels with “SS” center caps and chrome trim rings are mounted with Uniroyal® Tiger Paw GTS 215/70 raised-white-letter all-season tires.

Inside, the black color theme continues: black-vinyl upholstery features a classic, vertically-pleated design (with textured center panels); a black, 2-spoke, “SS”-branded steering wheel frames a black dash; black carpeting covers the cabin floors. The black headliner shows some looseness on the sailplanes. Door trim mimics the seat-upholstery design with a woodgrain trim strip; roll-up window-cranks are chrome (showing light patina) are in place. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer with a column-mounted tachometer. AutoGage® engine-monitoring gauges for battery-draw, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are added below the dash, forward of the console-mounted automatic-transmission t-bar shifter. An Optimus® audio head unit is mounted in the factory-radio location. The car was optioned with both power steering and power brakes. Condition of the vinyl, plastic, and dashboard surfaces is good overall with signs of use, but not abuse. The trunk is clean and properly finished.

Under the hood (with the correct SS twin faux vents), the Nova's powerplant is a beautifully turned-out Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch, 300-horsepower V8. Trimmed with a chrome air cleaner cover, the engine is spotlessly clean and correct, including the proper Chevy-orange engine-block (and valve-cover) paint. The entire engine bay shares that same correct look with all wiring and hoses refreshed and properly routed. Viewed from below, the car's chassis is clean, and well ordered. The eye is drawn to the full-length dual exhaust system with low-restriction Cherry-bomb-style mufflers, and the view of the bottom of the very clean engine. There is no sign of chassis or component damage, and only light surface rust is present on some untreated metal.

The car's identification and data tags remain in place. The previously mentioned build sheet and copies of prior-ownership titles are included in the sale.

While the more than 160 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '70 Nova SS in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

The fortunate next owner of this Nova SS 350 can expect compliments from, and conversations aplenty with admirers. After all, this is muscle-car history in the metal. Even a trip to the drive-in or a Sunday morning cruise is almost certain to draw spectators.
