Here are three Mercedes 190E 2.3 verbatim owner reviews from the respected Edmunds site:

“My 190e has 242,000 miles on it. Runs like new. Very smooth ride, good acceleration even though it is a 4 cyl 2.3l. Fun to drive. I just love it. I owned Honda, BMW and Ford but I have to say that the 190e left them all behind. Just needs regular maintenance with quality parts and it will last you a lifetime. The only problem I faced lately was overheating because of a bad fan clutch and that was a cheap job and never overheated again. I will definitely keep this car regardless of mileage.”

“I purchased this vehicle with 174,000 miles. I have to admit the fact that it was a 5-speed (super rare), I was somewhat willing to accept all the risks that come with a high mileage car. But I have to say after 3K miles later, I've never been so in love with a car before.”

“I can't believe my car runs over 180K Miles since it is very solid and reliable. Parts are readily available many places including web-sites. Small negative is the oil leakage. It seems most of the car in the same style have the same problem. Still it has excellent value for the price.”

Overall, 190E owner reviews on the Edmunds site consistently delivered 5 stars.

Offered here is a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 in white over gray. Originally a British Columbia car, it has been meticulously maintained. The car's exterior Arctic White non-metallic paint retains excellent gloss, a tribute to the Mercedes standards of the day (also demonstrated in its perfect body-panel alignment). The sheet metal is free of dings, dents or other damage. Chrome—including the classic Mercedes grille—is all in excellent condition. All factory badging is in place. Cabin glass and lighting lenses are undamaged. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Original 15-inch alloy wheels are mounted with Kumho® Solus 205/60 tires.

The car's interior surfaces show the same outstanding condition as its exterior. Gray MB-Tex upholstery—known for its resistance to wear, and very long life—retains a virtually as-new look. Door trim is likewise flawless. Gray carpeting—protected with Mercedes-branded matching carpet mats—is nearly perfect. The leather-trimmed steering wheel, black dashboard, and instrument cluster all retain their original look and finish. The center console's wood trim—including that surrounding the shift lever for the automatic transmission—is complete and unmarred. The stock Mercedes-brand audio unit remains mounted. The trunk appears to have never carried any cargo.

Under the hood, the 2.3-liter Mercedes 4-cylinder engine is clean, complete, and unmodified. All components are properly installed in a tidy engine bay. The air-conditioning system was converted to R134 refrigerant in 2021. Viewed from below, the chassis is undamaged and very clean overall with body-protecting covers in place.

The car's original build and identification body tags remain mounted. The full complement of factory-supplied literature is included in the sale, together with the aforementioned build sheet.
