Car and Driver's Eric Stafford continued: “Sold as either a sporty coupe or showy convertible, the Z06's most important feature is its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque and blasts an earth-shattering exhaust note. A seven-speed manual transmission is on hand for shifting duties, and an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is available. The Vette is also a livable daily driver that can transform into a track monster at a moment's notice. Its selectable drive modes and adaptive dampers alter a variety of driving characteristics that include quick and accurate steering as well as powertrain modes.”

Offered here is a 1019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 coupe in Shadow Gray Metallic (Code: GLI, WA-626D) over black leather and the 2LT trim package. A Carfax-certified one-owner car delivered new in Redford, Michigan, the current odometer reading is just 10,797 miles. In virtually every respect, this last-year C7 Z06 displays as a showroom-new vehicle.

The Shadow Gray Metallic exterior paint is flawless across the car's entire body. The relatively rare color was an excellent and somewhat understated choice that suits the car's flowing lines. It works especially well with the blacked-out rear side window, shadow-black headlight lenses, and gloss-black body accents: on the hood scoop, grille, front spoiler, ground-effects lower-side trim, front-fender vent, rear-fender-top trim, rear spoiler, and rear valance. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) All factory badging—the crossed-flags emblem in front, “Z06” fender emblems, crossed-flags emblem with black “Corvette” lettering on the rear—is properly in place. Cabin glass and all lighting lenses are free of imperfections. Factory, gloss-black, 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear), 10-split-spoke wheels are mounted with Michelin®285/30 Z-rated performance tires in front, 335/25 Z-rated in back. The open-spoke wheel design offers excellent views of the Corvette-branded red brake calipers and slotted rotors at all four corners.

Inside, every feature and every surface is as-new: beautifully stylized black door trim with white stitching accents, perfectly bolstered bucket seats upholstered in black leather also with white stitching, bright-red shoulder belts, black cabin carpeting (extending into the cargo area below the rear hatch), 3-spoke Corvette-and-Z06 branded multi-function steering wheel, full digital instrumentation, infotainment screen, climate-control, and audio controls, leather-covered dash and console (again with white stitching)… literally everything is pristine. The console-mounted Z06 emblem reads: “Supercharged-650 horsepower-650 lbs ft torque.” The shift lever for the automatic transmission is also located on the brushed-metal-trimmed console.

Under the forward-hinged hood with its Z06 identification on the underside, the beautifully turned-out LT4 supercharged, 6.2-liter V8 is a sight to cause a bowtie performance enthusiast's heart to skip a beat. Here, too, every surface on every component and every bit of hardware is spotless. Viewed from below, the story's the same: this Corvette's undercarriage could not have looked any better when it left the Bowling Green assembly plant.

Of course, all factory-mounted build and data tags remain mounted.
