(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. “… a car where the primary purpose is to make your heart race.” Period Pontiac Firebird Trans Am magazine advertisement

Headlined “Visceral reality,” another period Trans Am magazine ad described the experience: “Pontiac Trans Am exists for one reason. To launch you into another dimension. Hit the gas pedal and the computer-controlled, 305-horsepower RAM AIR inducted V8 howls. Mind-bending acceleration. Attack corners with the support of high-performance suspension and 17-inch wheels. Standard dual airbags and ABS are always on standby. So strap on a Trans Am and step into the future. Because technology should move you. Pontiac Trans Am. We are driving excitement.”

Offered here in Dark Aqua Metallic (Code 37U) over gray is a well-maintained 1994 Pontiac Trans Am, one of just 1,825 such cars produced. The car's overall excellent condition is a credit to prior owners whose care and commitment is evident. Showing 64,895 miles on its odometer, or just over 2,400 miles per-year in average since new, this Firebird Trans Am remains a terrific example of one of the last of the Pontiacs.

The car's exterior original Dark Aqua Metallic exterior paint retains excellent gloss across all body panels including the bespoke rear-deck spoiler. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) There is no body damage, no dings, no dents to be found. The removable black T-top panels are in excellent condition and add open-air driving to the Trans Am's appeal. Cabin glass and lighting lenses (including on the front lower driving lights) are clear and free of damage; the broad, smoked taillight is similarly damage-free. Factory badging—the body-color “Trans Am” lower door emblem, rear-valance red “Trans Am” logo and firebird emblem, and the embossed “Pontiac” lettering on the rear bumper-cover—is all properly in place. Black trim on the window-surrounds and door handles (here with red “Trans Am” identification) has been well cared-for; chrome quad exhaust outlets retain their shine. Aftermarket chrome, 5-spoke, 18-inch Foose® wheels are mounted with Continental® Extreme Contact 255/40/ZR performance tires.

Inside, the well-bolstered front high-back buckets and the two-position rear buckets are upholstered in light-gray velour cloth in a classic, vertically pleated design. The upholstery has been well-maintained, free of even much indication of normal wear. Door trim incorporates both light and dark gray in a pleasing, curvaceous design. A black steering wheel with embossed Pontiac emblem (and airbag) frames a driver-oriented black dashboard. The dashboard surface shows no cracks or discoloration. An analog instrument cluster includes a 5,250-rpm-redline tachometer and 115-mph speedometer with smaller engine-monitoring gauges arrayed beneath. The center stack, angled toward the driver, includes a replacement Kenwood® audio head unit in the factory-radio location, and heating and ventilation controls. The angled t-bar shifter for the automatic transmission is housed on the console together with performance control settings for the transmission, and the parking brake handle. Charcoal-gray carpets covering the floors are protected with red-embroidered Firebird carpet mats in front. Stereo speakers are mounted in the rear under-hatch cargo area.

Under the hood, the 5.7-liter LT1 V8 with ram-air induction is on display in a very clean and stock engine bay (thankfully not enhanced with spray-on shine products). Components are all present and properly mounted; beyond the addition of a low-restriction K&N® air filter, there is no indication of added aftermarket systems. Even the original information stickers remain in place. Viewed from below, the car's chassis is straight, undamaged, and remarkably clean. Performance shock absorbers are mounted.

While the more than 145 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '94 Trans Am in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Pontiac enthusiasts are a loyal and passionate group despite GM's decision to eliminate the brand. They keep the flame burning for “driving excitement” at club events and informal meet-ups. And they share their love for well-kept examples of the brand, so this Aqua Trans Am is sure to find ready acceptance among them.
