(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 2004 Pontiac GTO on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 145 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, and a link to the GTO's accident-and-damage-free, low-mileage Carfax history report, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.)

“If you want to shop around for other true four-seaters that can run with this Pontiac, you'll be visiting BMW and Mercedes-Benz showrooms and be looking at $50,000-plus window stickers.” - Edmunds road test.

It wasn't just Edmunds hailing the performance of the GTO, as DrivingLine noted: “... Car and Driver got 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds at 107 mph. That was hauling…. After three years, Pontiac sold just under 41,000 of what was its quickest, best handling GTO ever.” The GTO continued into 2006 with minor changes, but with the end of Monaro production in Australia, this also marked the end of the Pontiac GTO's... revival. In 2009, General Motors decided to shut down the Pontiac brand as a result of the economic recession — and this meant there would never be another GTO produced.”

Offered here is an exceptional example of that “last ever” GTO. Brilliant in red over black, the car is also appealing for its low mileage. Since it was delivered new in Hawaii, this “goat” has travelled just 20,242 miles, under 1,200 miles per-year on average since new. The Carfax history report showing no accidents or damage adds to the car's appeal. This is an extremely well-preserved, historic model from GM's legendary performance division.

The car's brilliant red paint retains a factory-new appearance across the entire body. Paint condition across the front of the car—including the twin grilles—is especially impressive, free of virtually any road rash. (To best assess paint quality, be sure to inspect the close-up photos in the gallery.) That also holds true for other body panels including the rear-deck spoiler. In similar fashion, the five-spoke factory wheels, cabin glass, lighting lenses, mirror caps, and black window trim all display like-new condition. All factory-applied emblems and badges—notably including the front-grille and front-fender “GTO” emblems and the rear “GTO” and “5.7” badges—are in place and as-new. The hood and rear-deck Pontiac-logo badges are a tasteful reminder of the history of the Pontiac Division. It's hard to imagine many '04 GTOs remain in such beautiful, low-mileage condition.

Inside, the four-seater's racing-style, properly bolstered, front and rear bucket seats are upholstered in black leather; the front-seats feature embroidered GTO identification on the upper portion of the backrests. Only the driver's seat cushion shows expected creasing form normal use. The Pontiac-logo steering wheel fronts driver-focused, analog instruments with gray faces. Across all the instruments and switchgear on the black dash, the white graphic markings are free of virtually any sign of wear. Door trim—including the step-over area of the door jamb—is likewise damage-free. The console hosts the shifter for the automatic transmission (with a red-stitched leather boot); to its rear there is a between-seat storage compartment. Cabin floors are covered in original black carpeting. The car's trunk is as spotless as the rest of the car.

Under the hood, the GTO-branded, 5,7-liter, performance engine and its related components make for an impressive sight… and sound. (For a sampling of the music of the GTO's exhaust note, be sure to watch the video linked in the listing.) The entire engine compartment is spotlessly clean and perfectly tidy. (Factory data and identification tags remain in place.) In the same way, the underside of the car—including the SLP® “Loud Mouth” dual exhaust system—shows no evidence of too-aggressive driving styles. The chassis is complete, very clean, and undamaged.

While the more than 145 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '04 GTO in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Truly a modern classic, this rare '04 GTO is bound to be the pride of any GM-performance enthusiast's garage, particularly those with an affinity for the Pontiac brand and a respect for its history. The car's performance on the road will be icing on the cake.
