1959 Porsche 356A Super Cabriolet
Offered here is a beautifully restored 1959 Porsche 356A Super Cabriolet (VIN: 151512) for consideration. This collector car comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and just 53,202 on the odometer. It is finished in Silver Metallic (608 – stamped on hinge cover) over a Green Leather interior with a black soft top. Original factory steel hardtop, “Reutter Verdek” #65647 goes with the car too. The engine and transmission are not original to the car. The current engine is a 1720cc with the big bore kit and Porsche 912 case, crank and cam - counter-balanced crank never turned, original dimensions, Magnafluxed, Zenith carburetors, and auxiliary oil pressure gauge mounted below dash. The convertible top was restored in German Haartz Cloth. Other noteworthy features include 30mpg/hwy, original 6V system, new wiring harness by Y&Z, third brake light under the engine lid grill, German square weave “Oatmeal” carpet, restored sun visors in excellent condition, Coco mats, and interior mounted fire extinguisher among others. The restoration on this car was started in 2002 at 32,438 miles and was completed in 2005. Bare metal restoration showed no body panel hits, all floor panels, battery box, longitudinals and various structural parts replaced due to rust. Bringing this 356A back to life, and a weekend trophy winner at that, was a common bond between two lifelong friends. One of two friends passed recently and the connection with the car for the surviving friend is not the same without him, hence the vehicle now being offered for sale. This vehicle has been meticulously cared for, remains in mint cosmetic and mechanical condition, and is now ready for a new garage. Complete restoration photos and receipts of restoration go with the car. See over 150 photos and video on dealer website.
