“… the 2000 Mustang GT's iron block 4.6 liter engine cranked out a very healthy 260 horsepower….” MustangSpecs.com

Offered here is a rare “Springtime Edition” 2000 Ford Mustang GT Convertible in Zinc yellow over platinum-and-black, under a black fabric convertible top. The MustangSpecs online site commented on the rarity of this model, especially in this particular color: “The Spring Edition (also known as the Spring Feature) was about a $990 option which shared a couple of the 35th Anniversary Edition appearance items, mainly the hood and side scoops. A total of 3,091 Spring Edition Mustangs were produced in 2000. There was a cool new zinc yellow color only available on the Spring Edition.” This yellow 'Stang has upgraded power, too, courtesy of a Vortech® supercharger. Showing 39,614 miles, or fewer than 1,900 miles per-year on average since new, this is a very well-maintained, excellent condition, low-mileage example.

The car's special GT-only Zinc yellow paint retains a showroom-quality finish across the entire body. The special hood, ground-effects lower-body panels, side air scoops, flared fenders, and rear-deck spoiler combine to give the Mustang a true performance look, and the yellow color adds its own flair. (The only flaw on the car's Carfax history is an accident some 13 years ago, and long since completely repaired.) All factory emblems—including front-fender Mustang badging, chrome “galloping pony” front-grille badge, and “Hurst® Equipped” rear-deck badge--remain in place, as does the “Mustang” identification embossed on the rear bumper cap and highlighted in black. All cabin glass and lighting lenses—including the lower-front driving lights--are crystal-clear and free of fading, damage, or discoloration. In the same way, the fabric convertible top (new to the car) is free of damage or wear marks. Upgraded aftermarket OE® brand 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels are mounted with Joyroad® Sport R 255-35ZR18 94W XL performance tires.

Inside, the Mustang features platinum leather seat upholstery with the remaining interior surfaces in black. The leather is in excellent condition with only the driver's seat cushion and outside bolster showing expected creasing from normal use. The nearly white color of the leather makes for an eye-catching contrast with the exterior paint. Front bucket seats feature Mustang “galloping pony” embroidery on the headrests. That pony also appears on the black steering wheel which frames analog instrumentation augmented with an AutoGage® digital air-fuel monitor and an analog boost gauge both mounted on the a-pillar. The center stack hosts the HVAC controls above an aftermarket JVC® audio unit in the factory radio location. The shift lever for the 5-speed manual transmission is just below. A black combination armrest and storage bin separates the bucket seats, and a “Mustang” script logo is incorporated in the dash forward of the front passenger. Like other interior surfaces, the sculpted door trim in black has been well-maintained as have the “step-over” lower door jambs (an indication of meticulous owner care). The cabin carpeting is also black with front carpet mats featuring embroidered Mustang logos.

Under the hood is the 4.6-liter Ford V8 prominently augmented with the air-supply piping for the Vortech supercharger. It's clear this performance add-on has been professionally installed, part of the more than $10,000 in upgrades to the car. The engine bay is clean with all components properly installed and all wiring and hoses properly routed; no added-shine sprays have been applied. Viewed from below, the car's chassis is complete and undamaged. The full-length dual-exhaust system (with crossover pipe) is a highlight.

All the car's factory data and build tags remain in place, and the original owner's manual is included in the sale.

While the more than 165 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this 2000 Mustang GT Convertible in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Open-air, top-down driving in a powerful 5-speed Mustang is one of life's true joys. And it's one we expect this yellow car's next owner will savor over… and over… and over.
