As personal luxury coupes like the Toronado, Riviera, and the Lincoln series cars became more common, this not often seen model hit the market with sleek styling and an unforgettable name. Images of tropical vacations and ocean cruises may have entered the imagination of the Marlin buyer, and a cruise in a Marlin is a smooth ride. This car is finished in the original color combination of Classic Black over Red interior and features a 287ci V8 under the hood.

Flowing body lines are accentuated by chrome trim in places like the tops of the fenders, around the windows, and along the fastback-styled rear portion of the car. Bodywork has been performed in a few areas of the car over the years, but nothing major. The black paint is shiny and even throughout, and all trim is present with the majority of the trim in very good condition. The bumpers are in great condition as well as the grille and exterior lights. There is a trailer hitch present on the back of the car, which we find interesting. This car would not look completely strange with a boat behind it, the sleek lines of a vintage boat next to the smooth lines of the Marlin would probably compliment each other.

Red interior trim covers all the surfaces from the carpet to the headliner. The dashboard features a pair of round gauges, engine turned aluminum trim, a lineup of neatly labeled round knobs, a column shifter, and in case you needed a reminder of what type of car you're in, the stylized Marlin logo is prominently displayed above the radio. The door panels match the interior styling cues of turned aluminum trim, chrome strips, and tuck and pleat style vinyl. The front seats fold to allow easy access to the backseat, and the trunk is surprisingly roomy despite a somewhat small trunk opening. The interior is impressive and comfortable, which is just what you would expect from a luxury sport coupe.

Under the hood is a 287ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission. The engine bay is tidy, with engine paint having been maintained. Power Steering, power brakes (disc front), 2BBL carburetor, and a fresh “287 Classic” decal on the air cleaner cover. This Marlin rides on fifteen-inch wheels that have stylized wheel covers, and white letter BF Goodrich tires. The body is solid throughout, but in flipping through the numerous service records we see receipts for repair to both quarter panels, which would also involve paint. Other service records include brake components, ignition coil, spark plugs and wires, exhaust components, tires, and lots more. The car was well cared for over the years and it's current condition reflects that.

This car has been well cared for and is ready for a new home. This car's sleek styling and stylish color combination are sure to turn some heads, and a few of our fellow car enthusiasts may even remember the Marlin.
