“Built to Stay Tough” - 1991 Chevrolet Blazer Sales Brochure

The '91 brochure copy continued, putting the appeal of the Blazer simply: “When the terrain gets really rugged, Blazer with 4-wheel drive delivers the added traction you need.” By 1991, the K5 Blazer was nearing the end of its wildly successful 20+ year model run; in 1995 the Tahoe took its place in the Chevy Truck lineup, but not in the hearts of Blazer loyalists.

Offered here is a rare, 4-speed-manual-transmission-equipped '91 K5 Blazer in well-maintained largely original condition, wearing a professional respray in two-tone white and medium metallic blue over a blue fabric interior. The truck shows 115,800 Carfax-verified miles on its odometer, or roughly just 3,800 miles per-year on average. Lightly used Blazers can be difficult to find.

The truck's exterior was professionally resprayed in white on the hood, fiberglass cargo-area cover, and both upper and lower flanks. In between, the metallic light-blue complementary color was applied in the factory-correct paint scheme, with blue continuing across the rear tailgate. The two paint colors are joined at a navy-blue tape stripe, again in keeping with factory applications. The quality of the paintwork is excellent across the entire body; there are no dents or dings. Emblems—including the front grille's gold bowtie—are all in the stock locations. The finish is uniformly glossy. In the same way, the truck's front and rear chrome bumpers, front grille, and chrome trim (including the factory side mirrors) retain their showroom appearance indicating owner care over the years. Cabin glass and lighting lenses (including on the quad headlights) are clear and undamaged. Original steel wheels with chrome trim rings are mounted with raised-white-letter Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires.

Inside, the well-maintained condition continues with only minor patina evident on some surfaces consistent with the truck's age. Door trim is done in blue with blue carpet on the lower portion; the truck has roll-up windows. Blue velour upholstery on the front bucket and rear bench seat is original to the Blazer, and has held up well (another indicator of owner care and maintenance). A large storage compartment is located between the front seats. The dashboard displays the same blue-and-white colors as the exterior. The stock Chevy Truck steering wheel of the time frames the driver-focused instruments. An updated audio head unit with CD is mounted in the factory radio location. Separate shift levers for the 4-speed manual transmission and the 4-wheel-drive transfer case are floor-mounted. Darker blue carpeting is in place throughout the cabin, and extends the full length of the cargo area.

Under the hood, the 5.7-liter (350 cubic-inch) stock, 220-horsepower V8 engine occupies center-stage. The engine bay is clean without being excessively detailed or sprayed with shine-adding products. All components are properly mounted; wiring and engine “plumbing” is all in order. The vehicle data tags remain in place. Viewed from below, the chassis is well-ordered; there is no sign of damage—including on the dual-exhaust system—of the sort that might arise from too-aggressive driving styles. Having spent a good deal of its life in Arizona, there is no indication of body-panel rust. A tow hitch is mounted.

The well-maintained, original condition of this '91 Blazer is faithfully presented from every angle (including from below) in the more than 130 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available at the GarageKeptMotors site. That said, we always encourage in-person, up-close inspections by interested parties—or their representatives—at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. We ask only that advance appointments be made by phone or email so that we can devote our full attention to our visitors and this investment-grade Corvette. Our showroom is not open to the public. Please feel free to get in touch by email or phone to ask any questions.

Locating a classic Blazer that's been well-maintained over its life, without ever being overly modified, can be a challenge. That said, the satisfaction of finding that rare one, and knowing that the future holds many more miles—on roads and off—ahead makes all the searching worthwhile. Your search may well end right here.
