“The sports car of your dreams. And ours.” –Mercedes Benz USA
The justifiably proud manufacturers of this fine German sports car went on: “With an unmatched motorsports pedigree behind it, the racers at Mercedes-AMG developed the GT to be a pure sports car with an ideal sense of balance. From its proportions to its sound, every element reveals its purpose, and its passion.”
The GT's engineering and array of driver-focused, track-tested features is long and impressive. A sampling (with much more available online at: https://www.mbusa.com/en/vehicles/class/amg-gt/coupe):
Design: “The AMG GT is sculpted to conquer wind and weight, and capture stares and hearts. Its seductive proportions celebrate its rear-wheel-drive power and ideally balanced chassis. Brilliant details turn airflow into athleticism. LED headlamps deliver high-performance illumination.”
Power: “Handcrafted AMG 4.0L 'dry sump' V8s unleash a torque-rich growl. Twin turbos, set in the 'hot V' between the cylinder banks, force-feed massive boost to each direct-injected cylinder. The results: 0-60 in 3.7 seconds for the 523-hp AMG GT....”
Handling: “The 4-wheel double-wishbone suspension employs highly rigid, lightweight forged aluminum components. Rear coil-overs are direct-mounted the hub carriers. Standard 3-stage AMG Ride Control adapts to road, track and driver. And multimode AMG Dynamic Select lets you dial in key performance parameters.”
Interior appointments: “The cockpit envelops your body, heightens your senses, and connects with your instincts. A dramatic, V-shaped console features color display buttons. The thick steering wheel frames reconfigurable digital instrumentation. And contoured AMG Performance seats help support your every move.”
The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is a rare performance automobile only a few will experience, let alone own. Offered here is a 2020 example in virtually perfect condition, ready for the garage, the freeway, and if they're so inclined, the track, in the hands of its next owner.
The car's exterior shows no flaws. From its sculpted front fascia and purposeful grille (with a look that tells other drivers that they are being approached by a seriously powerful sports car) to its speed-deployed spoiler and purposeful quad exhaust outlets in back, there is no mistaking the car's performance pedigree. The metallic gray paint complemented by the black wheels adds a classic, yet aggressive statement. It's as though this model was meant to be rendered only in this color combination.
Inside, the virtually as-new condition is evident on every surface. There is no sign of casual or careless treatment anywhere: no scuffs, no “patina.” The carpeted floor mats look to have never seen a boot. The door-jamb step-over areas have never been stepped... on. The elegant multi-function, flat-bottom steering wheel is perfect. The leather—including the dash with its gray deviated stitching complementing the car's exterior color—is without flaw. The piano-black console-hosting the shifter for the dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic transaxle shines brilliantly. The red safety belts for the car's two occupants add just the right touch of flair.
Under the hood, the AMG-craftsman-signed, hand-assembled, 4-liter, twin turbocharged V8 engine is a piece of automotive art. (Be sure to click on the video link at GarageKeptMotors.com for a short sampling of the engine note.) Nary a spec of dust shows in the engine bay, and the condition of the car's chassis is similarly pristine. The GT has clearly benefited from meticulous owner care in its first 7,000 miles.
The overall pristine condition of this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is faithfully presented from every angle (including from below) in the more than 130 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available at the GarageKeptMotors site. That said, we encourage in-person, up-close inspections of this special sports car by interested parties—or their representatives—at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. We ask only that advance appointments be made by phone or email so that we can devote our full attention to our visitors and this high-performance automobile. Our showroom is not open to the public.
Car and Driver summarized their review of the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT very simply: “Gorgeously curvaceous and brutally quick.” Behind the wheel, the next owner of this automobile will no doubt get plenty of satisfaction out of both those descriptors.
