Here's a Firebird with an interesting modification - a nose job. Did that process cause the “screaming chicken” to scream louder? We'll never know since we weren't there for the process of the nose job, but we do know that it looks great! To many, the squared off front end of the mid to late 70's Firebirds which feature blocky bumper pads are a bit less attractive than the nose of the early 70's cars. This car has the sleeker look of the '72 at the front and the slightly updated look of the '75 at the back. A subtle change that makes for a sweet looking car, and could be considered an OEM+ approach to modifying a car.

The car was repainted in a new color that is a leaf green metallic hue. The color looks to be something that would've been in the GM color palette at the time the car was built, although it was not a color originally offered on the Firebird. We think it's a great color on the car that's a little understated, but it adds a little flair since it's unique. The '72 Firebird hood paired with the more aggressive '72 front bumper gives this vintage Pontiac a tougher look. The paint shows well with depth and even gloss, the bumpers are in great condition, trim and lights show well, and the 17-inch wheels finish the custom look off.

Inside the car is a tidy interior finished in black. Notable interior features are black bucket seats, additional auxiliary gauges, Hurst shifter, Grant steering wheel, and wood veneer dash trim. The interior condition is clean, with age showing in a few small areas. The vinyl seats show a little wear, but no holes or tears.

Under the ram-air-hood is a 455ci V8 nestled in a very tidy engine bay. A Holley 4 barrel carburetor mounted atop a Edelbrock intake manifold feed the engine. Other highlights of the engine are MSD Ignition, MSD Spark Plug Wires, a polished air filter cover, aftermarket valve covers, and a custom exhaust that includes headers, x-pipe, and Pypes mufflers.

Here's your chance to fool eagle-eyed Pontiac enthusiasts on the road or at car shows. A later front end on a newer car, and a custom paint color will have Pontiac enthusiasts scratching their heads for a moment. Those who see this car appreciate the “nose-job” which was done for form over function. The results speak for themselves.
