“Drivers, fans, lovers of the true motorsport… come on out, if you dare.” - Porsche

The writers at Porsche weren't finished: “Before you stands a sports car of flesh and blood. Boasting a voluminous 4.0-litre six-cylinder horizontally opposed and naturally aspirated engine packing 520 horsepower, mounted in the rear. Its race track chassis will show you what it means to confront the tarmac head on. Eye for an eye. Lap after lap. The fixed rear wing is a flagrant provocation to do battle. To the opponent. And to the opposing headwind. The rear silencers as well as the tailpipes in titanium are a visible sign of what the… 911 GT3 RS is promising: unadulterated sound, pure performance, and a challenge that nobody whose heart beats for sports cars can shy away from.”

Offered here in Lizard green, one of the four optional special colors available from Zuffenhausen, is as pristine a 911 GT3 RS example as exists anywhere. With a mere 420 miles on the odometer, the car is effectively brand new. Its exceptional condition is fully and faithfully documented in the more than 150 high-definition photographs and a short walk-around-and-startup video at the Garage Kept Motors website. Every surface of the car—photographed from virtually every angle including from underneath—is flawless.

The car's option list—documented by the factory window sticker as well as the Porsche Production Specifications certificate—shows a discriminating driver's sporting selections. Choices included: Extended-range fuel tank, ceramic composite brakes (PCCB), fire extinguisher, sport-chrono package with dash-mounted stopwatch, adaptive sport seats, and all instrument dials in white.

Outside, there is no mistaking this for the uppermost naturally aspirated performance statement from the legendary German manufacturer. From the height-adjustable front spoiler (to avoid inclined driveway damage); to the prominent brake-cooling inlets and outlets on the hood and front fenders; to the yellow ceramic-brake calipers peeking through satin-black wheels with Lizard green outer rims wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires; to that prominent “provocative” wing out back; to the side stripes in the bespoke Porsche typestyle, every detail speaks to legitimate track-worthy credentials.

The car's cockpit communicates its pedigree with subtlety and purpose. The restrained use of Lizard green on the body-color-painted cooling vents, deviated stitching on the alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and door treatments, door-pull straps, and the “GT3RS” logos embroidered in the seatbacks, and even the dead-center mark embroidered on the steering wheel all let passenger and driver know they are sitting in a special place. Door-sill trim and floor mats in carbon fiber complete the purposeful statement.

As to how all this comes together on the road, Car and Driver put it this way: “The 520-hp flat-six howls like Allen Ginsberg at 9000 rpm. Its electrically assisted power steering is perfectly reactive for diving toward apexes as the wings push you deep toward the Earth's mantle. The wider-is-grippier chassis… holds on like it cares about you. And Porsche's dual-clutch automatic is like having Hurley Haywood choosing the gears as it perfectly anticipates your every move on the track and always finds itself in the right one of its seven forward ratios.”

Is a car capable of under-three-second 0-60 times too demanding to be useful in the real world? Not at all. Again, the experts at Car & Driver: “Built to generate low lap times and impressive numbers at the test track, the RS is a car you'd expect would be out of its element on the street. We expected a punishing and compromised machine, but Porsche wisely left in enough 911 to maintain a good sense of civility and refinement. The RS offers everything you'd ever want in a track car, and it'll carve through mountain passes faster than you can imagine, but it'll also take you to work without causing any pain. There's no higher praise for a sports car, or any car.”

To fully appreciate its many charms, we encourage in-person, close-up inspections of this amazing automobile at our Grand Rapids showroom. We ask only that all our prospective purchasers get in touch in advance to arrange an appointment so that we can devote our full attention to you when you arrive. Of course, we always welcome questions by email or phone.

Accomplished professional driver, Randy Pobst, who has successfully competed in a wide variety of race cars on tracks across the globe, summed up his take after a short time behind the GT3 RS wheel this way: "It was a beautiful experience, like there was a light from heaven shining down on the car going around the track," he said. "It was that kind of … otherworldly kind of perfection. Incredibly enjoyable."

We can only imagine the smiles that await the next owner of this Lizard green delight.
