Miriam Webster Dictionary defines a Demon as: an evil spirit, a source or agent of evil, harm, distress, or ruin. So why would one purposefully bring a Demon into their life? When a Demon looks this good, and provides grin inducing, tire shredding, insane acceleration…..we completely understand. Of course we're talking about the limited production, specially built Dodge Demon. Your passengers will be shouting more expletives than Linda Blair in The Exorcist when you stomp the go pedal. Chrysler's claim of 1.8g's on full throttle takeoff is eye popping, and nearly neck snapping. Although, any head spinning by passengers may mean you have a real problem with an evil spirit. (We're sorry but we can't help you with that problem.)

Despite the popular belief that the Demon is just a Hellcat with fender flares, wider wheels and tires, and a bit more power, the Demon is a very different car. At the unveiling of the Demon, Tim Kuniskis of Dodge explained, “Demon isn't an incremental change to an existing vehicle. It would've been easy to take a Hellcat and make it faster. But we didn't want to do that.”

With that detail covered, we should probably tell you about the differences in the Demon and how it is an even more insane car than the Hellcat. To start, Demon specific crankshaft, camshaft, valvetrain, connecting rods, and pistons are found in the heart of this beast. Dual fuel pumps and the world's only factory provided race fuel tune help give this car an edge at the drag strip. Two step ignition timing allows the 2.7 Liter supercharger to pre-pressurize at 8psi during staging, and by the first 6 feet after launch the supercharger is fully pressurized at 14.5psi. Line lock, trans brake, air conditioner powered charge air-cooler, 3.09:1 gearing, and a TorqueFlite 8-Speed Automatic transmission are other important highlights of the drivetrain. The suspension consists of a looser front setup paired with firmer rear springs to help transfer the weight of the car to the monster street legal, drag radial Nitto rear tires.

In the Demon Box (which is one of the $1 options available) there are 18” x 4.5” wide wheels to replace the front wheels and tires. Other treats in the box are a number of Demon branded accessories: a jack, car cover, tire pressure gauge, battery maintainer, tools, air intake filter, powertrain control module, integrated center stack, fender cover, and passenger mirror delete plate. With all those extras you're going to have a Demonic good time at the track. Not only will the tires and the pavement which they are on take punishment from this ghastly car, but the clocks and the competition at the drag strip will too!

In keeping with the evil name/theme of this Mopar, the car is painted in “TorRed” with black interior trim. Although the car is “stripped down”, the interior does feature some 'creature comforts' that most 840 horsepower, race focused cars don't have. Leather/Alcantara heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, red seat belts, 18 speaker Harman Kardon audio system, XM Radio, and backup camera are a few of the notable interior features. Our favorite interior detail is the little black button just in front of the shifter that says 'Launch'. Limited to just 3000 vehicles for the US market, this car is number 2160 according to the dash plaque.

If you're crazy enough to welcome a Demon into your life, this Mopar is an evil car ready to ruin some tires, pop some wheelies, and hurt some feelings at the lights. We're excited to have this special car in our showroom, but we figure it would look better in your garage…..if you have room for some pure evil…..muahahaha!
