Want a rare and classic truck? Look no further than this beautiful 1956 Studebaker Transtar Deluxe Pickup. There are a plethora of Fords, Chevys, and Dodge pickups on the road, but you rarely see Studebakers. The Transtar was only produced from 1956-1963 out of South Bend, Indiana with the Studebaker production company closing its doors for good in 1966 after a run of making cars and trucks since 1952.
Our local client acquired the vehicle from a long time owner as a promotional vehicle for his insurance business; however, soon realized the truck was just too nice to sit outside as a Michigan billboard and tucked away in the garage. And it is. The car is finished in a clean Blue paint with white accents over a white and blue interior. It is powered by a turn-key 224ci 2bbl Commander V8 engine mated to a 3-on-the-tree manual gearbox. It is equipped with a 12-volt electrical system, 3-speed transmission, full wheel covers, heater-defroster, left-hand mirror, chrome bumpers front and rear, factory gauges and turn signals, white painted grille, wood bed side racks, chrome side window visors, and a deluxe cab with steel bed.
It is rust-free and ready for a new home. Studebaker did not produce many trucks so finding a rare one like this, especially in this condition, is a great find. A great value at the price offered here. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
